Duke on Park — Restaurant in Brantford

Took the mother in law out for liver n onions... her idea of a comfort food ( to me, just guts ) upon completion of her entire plate, I asked ger to rate her meal, and she gave it a 9.5 out of 10 ! I asked her why only 9.5, and she said, " because nobody is ever allowed to cook liver as good as my mother did. " My wife ordered the wings, 2 lbs ! She wanted to know where they found the pterodactyl cause the wings were ginormous and cooked to crispy perfection, she couldn't even finish them, I had to help her with a couple. We started with a plate of tasty taters, folks, if you try anything at the Duke, order a plate of these ! I'll not go into detail so that it will remain a devilishly culinary suprise that is sure to get you recognition and thumbs up at the table 👍 Myself, I had the braised beef served in yorkshire pudding with mashed potatoes and fresh sautéed vegetables with gravey... Amazing. I'm a big guy, and I couldn't finish the plate. The two ladies said they were full and couldn't possibly eat another bite... so I ordered them a chocolate cream cake ( the name of which eludes me at the moment ), despite them insisting they had absolutely no room and would explode...they gobbled it up, not leaving a crumb !! The wife says that she would return to the Duke just for that cake alone !! The staff seem to truly enjoy working there, and it shows with their friendly and welcoming service. Our waitress had full knowledge of all the items we inquired about and some popular recommendations for us to consider. Now, the dollar part.... with non alcoholic beverages and a tip, it was just over $100. For the 3 of us. In my books, well worth it. We will be back. Thanks, Duke on Park and staff. You...

The live music was great and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming but the service and food was absolutely terrible

We came in with a large group and were probably the biggest table there, roughly 10 people at our table at 7:30pm on a saturday,I ordered a beer and it took roughly 40 min before the beer even arrived, in that time half the table was getting their food delivered while the other half was still waiting to place our order. Once we finally put our order in it was close to another 40 min for my wings to arrive.

When biting into them I could tell instantly that they were microwaved, the outside was way to hot while the inside was luke warm. While we were eating no one came over to see if we needed anything, refills ext.

Once the meal was finally done it was another 30 min wait before I got up to ask for our bill then it was another 20 min wait for the machine, the place wasn't packed, we had people come in after us and left before us, the staff were almost avoiding us, only saw the waitress roughly 3 times the 2 and half hours we were there. The pricing was far to much for the wait and it did not deliver.

I could understand a bit of a wait if the place was packed but it wasn't, it was an average amount of people for a Saturday night.

Was my first and last time I have ever been to the Duke, I will never recommend this...

Edit. I was told the entitre 3rd menu including the bigmac flatbbread was no longer avalible which was what i first called for. So definitely more then a dropped ball. .

This review is purely about Nikola and not the restaurant however they should train her better. Rudest woman ive had the displeasure of taking my order. I called asking for an item that I was told is no longer available depsite the menu being on the website that it was phased out and told me to call back since i didnt instsntly know what other item i wanted. I called back and I asked for the brusheta she got annoyed at me saying there is no brusheta bread. That I can have the brusheta on the cheese bread. I said yes please and to add the glaze she then told me that's 2 completely different things that I can either have the bread or the brushetta which makes no sense why offer me the option to combine if I can't combine them? She then audibly ughed at me for being confused and handed me off to another lady. If the other lady wasn't so nice I would of just canceled my order. Glad I wasn't dining in and will definitely be avoiding days she's working if she can't handle people with autism needing a clear answer and not spoke to like...
