Two friends and I spent a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon having High Tea at the Golden Teapot!! The minute we drove through the gates to head up to the Tea House it was simply "love at first sight" and walking into the Tea Room itself was very calming...an oasis. The soft, popular, instrumental music in the background and the barely heard clink of china above the gentle murmur of the other 15 guests were soothing and gratefully welcomed. Linda, the person who served us, was an absolute sweetheart and couldn't do enough for us. The Teas were wonderful, freshly baked scones with fresh peach jam and clotted cream, sweets, crudities and freshly sliced fruits were to die for! Afterwards we visited the Art Gallery upstairs and posed for pictures outside (Tyler the young assistant helped take some beautiful pictures for us) among the splendid floral art sculptures created from so many different coloured flowers. I returned home to tell the rest of my family that we simply have to go back again to experience this amazing soul soothing event. Keep up the good work Linda, Tyler and the gentleman who helped bring all the wonderful edibles to our table, and thank you for a wonderful afternoon!! We will...

Are all words we would use to describe our wonderful experience we had at the Golden Tea Pot. Janice and I had the Kensington Tea service. And it did not disappoint.
Linda and her daughter were lovely hostesses. It was Janice’s birthday and I wanted something special just for her. As Janice is in love with her tea. And so this seamed like the perfect spot to take her.
Wow! Was that an under statement. We loved the selection of teas. I had the cream earl grey. And truly it’s now my favourite tea. And let’s not forget the food. Absolutely stunning presentation and incredibly delicious. And so much food we needed take out boxes.
Linda was amazing. We were the last sitting and she took the time to stay and talk with Janice about tea cups. Well that was the icing on the cake for Janice. It totally made her day. We talked to the family about the wonderful experience we had all night.
Thank you so very much! We most definitely will be back. Now on the hunt to find were we can purchase that cream earl gray tea….

Read moreMy visit to the Golden Teapot shop was a bit disappointing, to be honest. Don't get me wrong, the overall experience was fine, but there were a couple of things that bothered me, and I really feel like I need to share them.
I was specifically told when I was walking into the tea room that the black tea being served was Yorkshire Gold tea. I'm from Yorkshire and I know my tea. After my first cup I was like this isn’t Yorkshire Gold, theres no way, it’s weak. Opened the teapot, round bags… it’s Tetley. I was bewildered, such a weird thing to lie about.
Then, there's the scone situation. They had the nerve to serve them with whipped cream! Proper high tea should always come with clotted cream - It's just not the same. Clotted cream is available in the region for purchase.
I really hope they consider making that change for their future high tea offerings.
Despite these little issues, I do think the tea shop has potential. But they need to pay more attention to those details that make a proper tea experience...
