Waited for over an hour for our food. Other people who came in after us ordered, ate, had dessert and paid by the time we got our food. I’m not sure if it’s because we weren’t welcome but we left with a bad taste in our mouth’s. As for the food we ordered the fish and chips, cod chowder and shared the crab cakes. The cod chowder was just alright. Fish and chips were very greasy. What was really upsetting were the crab cakes. At $20 for 2 my only question was did they forget to put crab in the recipe. It was dry and packed with filler( bread crumbs). I was quite disappointed that nothing was done to apologize, comped or acknowledged about our experience. 100% chance we won’t dine at the Quay restaurant again.I’d advise anyone to spend your hard earned money someplace else.
Update: I received an update to this review from the “owner” but that still doesn’t mean anything when you prioritize other tables of locals before other guests. Poor management if you think that’s ok…… this just confirms that we will not be returning as customers and we think you should avoid...
Read moreI was not prepared for how beautiful Brigus was, and this adorable little town houses a quaint little place for the hungry traveler.
We tried the crab cakes and the Big Brigus chicken sandwich with fries, dressing and gravy. The crab cakes were great at first, but then get saltier as you eat them. A little hard to finish. The chicken sandwich was quite tasty but a little bland. It needed some seasoning, and only came with mayo and lettuce chunks. I'm not convince with the choice of drowning your fries in dressing and gravy as the dressing really doesn't add anything, and the gravy makes everything soggy.
The room itself is sparse but cozy, but their website needs updating. Ensure you make a reservation as this seems to be very important to them. Afterwards, go for walk amoung the adorable houses and visit the cove, and...
Read moreExcellent! Wonderful spot for lunch or dinner. Friendly staff and great food. Pan fried cod was great prepared well. Generous portions. Our group ordered chowder, fish & chips, big Brigus, onion rings, burger, tacos and fish cakes. The restaurant was packed, which meant slower service, but we expected that from the start. Well staffed. Don’t leave without trying the crumble with a Jumping Bean coffee. Nothing here is going to blow your mind, just really good food with generous portions surrounded by the most wonderful people, and in a picturesque...
