This restaurant clearly does not care about their customers. This review is coming from loyal customers who have been coming here for years. My partner grew up here in New West ordering this pizza.
We absolutely love the quality of the sauce, meat, and dough of this pizza. It’s easily our favourite pizza here in New West.
However, the customer service is abysmal. The only times we had a pleasant time is when dealing with the younger staff, or the owner himself.
We actually resorted to ordering through DoorDash delivery, as we simply could not deal with how rude and unpleasant the older lady is.
Tonight, they cancelled our order through DoorDash. After multiple orders throughout the months of our build it yourself option (which is a large pepperoni pizza), apparently an extra charge of $1.00+ would be warranted for having cheese and pepperoni.
Every major pizza company with a build it yourself ordering feature, does not include cheese as a main topping. The base of the pizza is the dough, sauce, AND cheese. If you want EXTRA cheese, this would warrant the up charge. Your further toppings are then added up.
We do not want “Pepperoni Yummy” we simply want regular pepperoni, which is not on their regular menu.
Instead of reaching out to us and explaining the price would need to be adjusted as per their menu prices, they simply cancelled the order. How frustrating.
Why is it put on the customer to compensate for your inconsistent prices? We have been ordering this way for months? How many times have we ordered a regular pepperoni pizza for pick up, and the price would flocculate based on who was working? How can deciding on a price for regular pepperoni pizza be this difficult?
Not only that, but to have an attitude while providing subpar service just takes the cake.
We ended up ordering from Papa Johns instead. The pizza is larger, with the price difference honestly not being that much more, with pleasant customer service.
Thank you, Papa Dave’s, for another negative interaction with...
Read moreHorrendous customer service today. I ordered some pizza's online as I have done many times before but the person working there today doesn't understand how to use the system, so even though they confirmed and my credit card was charged when I called after waiting over 50 minutes they asked to call me back and now an hour after waiting they claimed to have not received the order. They asked me to send my receipts and I did so, proving payment had been sent and the order had been confirmed. After arguing with me about if the order had actually been paid for they informed me they couldn't deliver the order and asked for me to pick it up. When I said that was unacceptable I asked for a refund. They asked to call me back.
Now an hour and a half after ordering they called back saying they couldn't refund the order but that they would send a driver, I said okay, but then they said the driver wouldn't arrive until 6pm, keep in mind I ordered the pizza's at 4pm. I insisted upon a refund and they flat out refused my request.
The woman on the phone was incredibly rude and her attitude the entire time was combative. This is not how you treat customers. When I told her that she said "I will never lose my customers, my customers love me". I don't know if it's because her grasp of English seems lacking, but I corrected her by stating, "I am a customer and this experience means you are losing me". She then became more combative and I hung up.
I will seek explore my options for a refund and will not be a customer of Papa Dave's going forward. Which is a shame because on all my previous orders that went through with no problems the pizza was great, but I can't reward horrific customer service like this.
I have worked many many jobs that are customer facing and the way I was treated today was a prime example of what not to do.
I've attached screenshots of my receipts obscuring my personal information.
Update: Refund has been issued by the online ordering company,...
Read moreI've been looking for an old fashioned, authentic type pizza I remember getting as a kid in the '90's. Nothing has really scratched that itch...until NOW!
Papa Dave's pizza is SUPER YUMFUL! The toppings are generous and well placed, including the perfect amount of their 3 cheese blend.
The dough is just the right thickness. It is tender and yet has a bit if that crisp mouthful when you bite into it. It is not greasy and yet not dry...it's perfect!
Here's the true star...the SAUCE! It's not sweet, artificial tasting or lacking faith of flavour. It is savoury, rich in spices that will delight your palate and obviously authentic to the restaurant. I wish I could just butly the sauce for my own use at home, it's that good!
Price is in league with any other establishment, which is pretty amazing when you consider the quality one gets! I can tell they make their pizzas with love and joy!
There isn't online ordering through them directly, which is neat as I can't remember the last time I called a pizza place, so it added to the nostalgia. You can use Skip the Dishes if you want. I was able to text them through Google and ask questions, so that was cool.
They allowed for a topping substitution without charging more.
The pizzas I got were 2 large; 1 cheese lovers with pepperoni, salami and capicolli, and 1 Lean Beef a lovers with pineapple substituted in lieu of mushrooms.
The pizza reheats well the next day in the oven.
I won't be ordering from anywhere else, this is now my defacto pizza place.
Plus they are a family owned small business, so supporting local is awesome!
Well done...
