I've had a lot of BBQ over the years and I'm not kidding when I say that this is hands down my new favorite spot. We had heard good things so we drove down from Calgary to try it out. If this is your first time, bring a couple friends and get the Tailgater platter and a burger to share. It's a little bit of everything and you'll be able to figure out what to order more of once you dig in. The brisket is ridiculously tender and juicy, the ribs were perfectly done, and the pulled pork won over my daughter who typically doesn't love pork. The chicken was perfect, not overcooked, and everything is fresh. Imagine a good friend of yours moved to Alberta from the south and welcomed you into their home for a home cooked meal. Now you've got the picture. The bread is perfect for soaking up the juices and the burger comes on a bun that has the perfect texture. Save room for desert, the carrot cake and cookies were the perfect ending to the meal. No surprise since this is also a bakery. Jesse and the team are super friendly as are the customers here. We really liked the way they explained everything on the platter as it came out. This is one of those restaurants worth driving out of town for. Do it and...
Read moreFirst time dining on the BBQ side. Heard really good things, and was looking forward to it. I ordered the 1/4 lb brisket and slaw. The brisket was good but not to die for. Too dry, not a ton of flavor. I added the BBQ sauce that was on the table (very good). The slaw, while made with fresh ingredients, didn't have much flavor. Could have used some vinegar/acid/lime juice and more seasoning. The condiments (pickles, pickled red onion, and jalapenos) were wonderful additions to the meal. Lemonade was so good! And the waitress gave me a sample to try beforehand which was so thoughtful. Would love to come back and try more. Might ask if there is lime to add to the slaw next time - the waitress came to ask us how our meal was, but was in such a rush that I couldn't even respond, or else I would have asked her about getting lime for the slaw. She also just shouted from across the room, and never actually came...
Read moreA pretty good place where I would eat at again. 4 adults ate and we were all satisfied with the large portions and tasty food. The corn bread is good, as well as the white bread that came with the meal. The sausage was nice, I'd have it again, and the ribs were the best thing we ate. The fries are many and delicious ESPECIALLY when ripped in the excellent gravy. The mushroom side order, I forget what it is called, was excellent as was the lemonade we drank. However... The coleslaw was bland, not a lot of taste. Left almost all of it on the plate. And 3 of us thought that the smoked brisket needed something more for taste. The smokey taste was minor even with the tasty bar b que sauce. I must also mention that we cut off all of the fat that was on top, and if that's what is supposed to be the big taste, then ignore what I said about the brisket. Overall I most certainly would eat...
