My husband wanted the fish and chips. We haven’t been here for a long time. We drove over an hour for a nice Sunday out just to have a meal here. The waitress flopped down to sit on the chair across from us to take our order. Literally flopped onto the chair. We were not ready. For her to come again took a long time. After we got our meal. We didn’t see her again. She didn’t come to see if I would like a refill of coffee (I would have), or ask us how our meal was, or if we would have liked a dessert…It was quite shameful. My husbands fish went soggy really quickly and the fries could have been cooked longer. My husband messaged his friend who lives in the Community. He replied with a laugh emoji stating “Good luck, we don’t go there anymore. It really went downhill. Service sucks eh”…. Beyond disappointed. We decided not to tip which feels terrible. But why would you tip on a service that does not warrant it? Still a super uncomfortable situation. Also felt we were given a bad look because of it. Would like to add, an older gentleman was sitting on the bench by the cash and joked with us on how awesome the staff is here. The waitress said “We have our moments”. Kind of smugly. We clearly did not see one of these moments. My husband does not...

"Bobbers Restaurant: A Fishy Affair"

The Good: The staff at Bobbers were so friendly, they almost convinced us they were secret agents working undercover as waiters. The restaurant was so clean that even the dust bunnies were doing stand-up comedy.

The Bad: As a fishing-themed restaurant, we expected the menu to have more fish than the aquarium at a marine biologist's house. In a shocking twist, we opted for the hot hamburger – a choice that turned out to be colder than a polar bear's toenails. The pre-frozen patty tasted like it had been thawed with the warmth of a disinterested cat, swimming in a gravy that was trying its best but only made it halfway there. The to-go boxes collapsed faster than our expectations after the first bite. It seems like Bobbers lost its hook on quality food, at least on the day we visited. On the bright side, my dad found true love in the form of his pie.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars – Bobbers, where the fish are as elusive as a mermaid's phone number, but the pie is a slice of happiness in a sea...

Came into Bobbers on March 17 about 6:15 for dinner … the restaurant was not overly busy but there was only 1 waitress as we overheard that the other called in sick… we chose a table as instructed… it was one by the window but hadn’t been cleared yet … the waitress came over very abruptly .., cleared table very abruptly rolling her eyes (not sure whether she was angry at us for choosing that table) pushed the salt and pepper across the table and threw the cutery down not placing it … she left and served a table that came in after us 1st … meal came in a timely fashion and was very good … waitress did not return other than to bring the meal … did not ask if we enjoyed our meal or if we wanted dessert … very disappointing service therefore left a minimal tip … understandable that she was overworked but rude behaviour is never...

Located in the heart of Bruce Mines, Ontario, next to the marina, Bobbers is an incredible find. Fresh fish, spectacular perogies, and meals to suit any need. Family run and operated, the place is always busy as a favourite dining experience for locals. Recommended for a stop anytime, even a relaxing coffee break when passing through town. The butter tarts and date squares are outstanding and generous, but the pies can only be described as mile high and heavenly. Not too sweet, the fruit speaks for itself. And the crust is light and flaky. Blueberry pie is pictured and the raspberry and apple pie is mouthwatering. But for a spectacular, jaw-dropping experience, try the coconut cream pie. Edit: added the raspberry pie photos.

Their coleslaw is fantastic. And their fries are fresh cut, they are pretty good too. But lord stay away from the burgers. I say "if your not going to pack your own patties, stay out of the burger game." They literally taste like only the preservatives and gross grease & because of that I spent the night ralfing it up. I would only ever order the coleslaw from there in the future. They do also have great baked goods. We got cookies and pie. And I can deny, they were fantastic! So if you happen to stop on your way by, grab a cookie, some pie & an order of slaw and run, run, run!

Pulled into Bobbers for lunch on my way to Wawa. The service was quick and friendly, and my fish and chips were pretty good. I noticed a few other meals go by that looked really good. But I'll be coming back to Bobbers for the pie! That apple pie was the best I've had since my aunt's. Fresh, loaded with apples, spiced just right, and a crust to die for. And you can buy whole pies to go, too.
