As the egg-waffle chef lovingly (I’m assuming) spread the Portuguese egg tart filling into the waffle iron, I was already drooling.
We went to Eggtastic after lunch planning to order the OG egg waffle but the Portuguese waffle caught our eye so we got that along with a Hojicha Milk Tea with pearls ($6.50) - 30% sweet was just right. I liked that they had a non-caffeinated tea option.
After a 5-6 minute wait, the egg waffle was piping hot and ready. I’m glad we got some photos because we inhaled it in about 60 seconds. The outside was crispy while inside each bubble was some sweet (but not too sweet) and hot fresh egg custard. I don’t know much about food trends or if Portuguese egg waffles are a thing but if they aren’t, they should be!
It’s a bit pricey at $7.25 but I’m already planning on when to go again and this time I don’t...

I felt the matcha taste was very strong, almost to a point where it was bitter so you need to truly enjoy matcha to like this. Texture of the bubble waffle was spot on, but I felt they put too much mochi in it ironically, every bubble had a piece of mochi in it, making it a bit too sweet - plain flavoured mochi would’ve made it better and less of it.
However, based on their bubble waffle texture, I do think their original flavour would be good and worth it because it’s significantly cheaper. It’s definitely one of the better bubble waffle places in town and I’d go...
Read moreI've tried Mango Slush, Matcha Waffle and Hojicha Milk Tea so far Matcha Waffle and Hojicha Milk tea were the best things ever!
Mango Slush wasn't bad at all. Hojicha Milk Tea has this toasty milk tea flavour with milky taste similar to Roasted Milk Tea from Chatime. Matcha Waffle ($6.99) was freshly made and mochi pieces were squishy. I think the mochi pieces were packaged Bingsoo toppings from a grocery store.
Matcha Wafffle seemed kind of expensive, but the after taste of green tea was slightly bitter and sweet. It was pretty good. You really gotta try the Hojicha Milk Tea it...
