5 months ago my stepfather made reservations for his renewal of vows to my mom. He had asked if he could have the ceremony outside. He was told that there was another wedding that same day but that they should be able to accommodate them somewhere on the grounds away from the other wedding party.

He was asked to call back to make the final arrangements when it got closer to the ceremony date. He called back about 3 weeks before the reservation date and was then told that it would not be possible to hold the ceremony outside and that they would have to do everything in the room that they had booked (not very accommodating for a family with small grandchildren).

The grounds are quite large and it’s hard to believe that there would not be a small area on the opposite side of the building to do the very small ceremony for 10 people, no music or noise just saying their vows. As the restaurant isn’t very large the other wedding party could not possibly be that significant in size as the seating is quite limited.

If they had just told my parents that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES would their ceremony be able to be held outside due to the other wedding reservations would have not been booked there in the first place. MY parents were mislead.. this could have been all avoided if the person who took my parents reservations originally had stated that the grounds would not be available for use for the ceremony.. SO Instead of allowing my parents those 5 months to make other arrangements for their special day.. they had less then 2 weeks..to come up with another plan...

I will never eat there.. or bring my family or.. have any special occasions planned there. I find it horrible that my parents had to SCRAMBLE to repair the damage that the Terra Cotta Inn has caused...but in the end they did them a favor as they where able to find accommodations at a far...

My husband and I have been here before and the service was okay…not highly pleasant but not bad. However, we went again on October 17th at 5 pm because we really loved the patio and atmosphere. Unfortunately this time, we were barely greeted as the two ladies (lady at front desk and waitress) were talking to each other and didn’t bother to greet until we spoke to them directly. After that their behaviour was highly unkind and not welcoming. We asked about the patio to which the waitress said it was not available. We then walked into the dinning area and she asked us to sit at a table in the middle of the room even though everyone else was sitting in the perimeter. We asked to sit in the table by the window which was fully clean and set up. But she very rudely said “only this table….” And I genuinely was waiting for a kind provision of a reason as to why that table we asked for was not available. Anyway once we sat down at the table she seated us in, my husband and I didn’t feel comfortable so I suggested we leave because I didn’t like the energy I was feeling. So we left and on our wait out we wanted to let them know that were really wanted the patio and since it’s not available we will visit another time. Shockingly the ladies didn’t bother or even look at us. So I walked away while my husband continued to tell them why we’re leaving but they continued to literally IGNORE him. It felt really disrespectful and I don’t think we would ever feel comfortable to revisit the Terra Cotta restaurant.I feel really sad by this because there aren’t many places...

Bees, Bloated Bills, and Bad Service at Terra Cotta Inn. We recently had lunch on the patio at Terra Cotta Inn, hoping to recreate a fantastic experience from a previous visit. Unfortunately, this time around, the experience was a bust.

The patio setting is still lovely, and the crepes were good. However, our group summarized the experience as "Bees, Bloated Bills, and Bad Service" for a few key reasons.

Bad Service: The service was a major issue. Our wait person seemed stressed and annoyed, barking out specials and answers in a rough way. The service certainly did not warrant an 18% gratuity, which was automatically added to our bills for being a party over 8 people. We could not see where on the menu this was stated, perhaps we missed it.

Bees/Wasps: While we expected this on an outdoor patio in September, the number of wasps was quite high and became a nuisance once the food arrived.

Bloated Bills: All of us were given outdated food menus that listed beer for $11, but our bills showed a price of $12 per pint. The server said the menu was old and that the $12 price was correct. We were not shown the new food menu. They reluctantly honored the menu price. This "bait and switch," combined with other billing errors (one person was initially charged for a different, more expensive menu item), was unprofessional and frustrating.

Overall: While some of the food (the crepes) was good and the setting is pleasant, other food (packaged pizza?) was disappointing. Ultimately, the bad service and billing issues made the lunch a bust. We won't...

Came here for lunch with my colleagues on a gloomy wet day. We had reservations for the patio but were given the option of indoor seating which we declined. The restaurant is situated on the banks of the Ford Credit River and has a nice extended garden. I am sure it must look fabulous on a sunny day. The patio seating was simple yet comfortable. I ordered the French Onion soup and the Seafood feature dish. The onion soup was good. The broth was flavorful but not strong on the onion as rightly pointed out my one of my colleagues. The cheese went well with the soup. The feature dish was fillets of bream and not sure of the other mild fish on a bed of jasmine rice with vegetables and a scallop and shrimp as garnish. While the dish looked amazing visually , I don’t think it worked. Firstly the dish was dry; from the fish to the rice .. very dry and not having any sort of sauce or a reduction did not help. Then the scallop had some dirt in it and the fish had too many bones in the first couple of bites. It was not a pleasant experience. The waiting staff was very accommodating and had my dish replaced with the ricotta gnocchi with mushrooms which was fabulous. The gnocchis were like fluffy pillows. The sauce had curdled causing it be a little grainy but the gnocchi was simply outstanding! Will come back for that dish again.

I normally do not write reviews but just had to for this place! The patio is huge and has very scenic views backing onto the Credit River. The service was impeccable and they had very strict COVID protocols in place. The patio is large enough that the tables can be spread apart quite well. The best part of our experience was the food! We started off with the calamari which was delicious and came with a very nice salsa on the side for dipping. I ordered the Petto di Pollo which was to die for! It had goat cheese and a wonderful sauce to go with it, not dry at all and bursting with flavour. I am still thinking about it a few days later. My husband had the veal parm which was also delicious. Both meals came with vegetables and potatoes which we also enjoyed. I had the chocolate fudge cake for dessert which was so decadent and a perfect way to end the meal. We both enjoyed our wine and beer. All in all, the price was very reasonable for what we got. The menu has lots options and we are already planning our next time there. Note that there was a 2hr time limit but we did not feel rushed at all. This was our first patio experience since the lockdown was lifted and we are so glad we were able to take advantage of this little gem not far from our home.

We had visited this place for many years several times from spring to fall every season. Always happy with atmosphere, food and drinks. Today we had been disappointed from A to Z even servers were nice. We came for dinner but decided to go home after having appetizer. We had cezar and spinach salads, and fried calamari and bruschetta. Cezar barely reached level of cheap chain restaurant and spinach... Well. One sad olive, one mini cherry tomato, one really small strawberry over chunks of bitter leafs almost without any claimed vinegarette. On the bottom of plate we found few slices of almonds. Fried calamari for $18!!!!! Were 11 chunks of rubberish no crunchy calamari with no taste. Bruschetta was just unseasoned chopped tomatoes with pinch of green onion dropped over toasted baguette... Please give a chance to your cook learn basics!!!! Beer: Even menu list say "draft" - for this level of restaurant it means "poured from can" They simply have no tap... To drink bottled or canned beer I can stay at home! Please travel the world to learn how to run restaurant!!! This is poor and cheap even for North America! There always use to play calm relaxing music, often live. Today just radio from cheap speaker. Overpriced and cheap!
