This is an Applewood/68th street classic, this spot has been open for years, I’ve grown up getting pizza, hot wings, chicken strips, poutine and wraps, and it’s such a comforting spot here. This spot has lasted even through the 2020 pandemic, feeding my buddies and I when we only had a $5 bill to share haha. Their pizzas are definitely the most balanced I’ve had for local spots, it beats the chain restaurant pizzas, it’s not too greasy, it’s not too flat, it’s perfect, to me atleast. I’ve gotten countless slices here and made countless memories, I am for sure not blinded by nostalgia because as of getting older I’ve strayed away from pizzas due to my fitness journey, yet I come back here for a cheat day. I recommend the poutine, I remember coming home from high school and getting the poutine, it’s an interesting take from how they prepare it freshly, it’s cheap and quick, their new poutine toppings are incredible as well! Lastly I have to compliment the workers, they’re always kind, they’re confident, and exemplary in customer service, I have to say this spot is worth trying for a quick slice, and even a whole pie, there’s a reason my family and friends always come here for...
Read moreIts not much to look at ,but I often stop to grab a couple of slices from the ready made pizzas. A couple times, I've had to wait a few mins for the pizza to be ready but id rather have fresh than have them make too much and then let it sit and get stale. Its tasty and you get 2 nice sized slices plus a can of pop for 5.25. Very reasonable. The young man and lady who work there ,I think they are married and the owners, are pleasant and polite. One thing I would prefer they change is a note hung up ,saying "excuse the mask but the smell of the meat makes me sick" The lady wears a dust mask. I thought it was just to be sanitary and would rather have gone with that thought than stinking meat. Lol. Its not that appetizing of a thought. Nevertheless I will keep going and enjoying reasonably priced and tasty slices. Addendum; I went back the next day and the sign had been changed. The reason she wears the mask she is pregnant and the smell of meat, all of a sudden makes her queasy. Because of all the hormones and what not. Husband very friendly explained to me explained this to me....
Read moreI recently visited dillo’s pizza and had a very disappointing experience. I bought a $4 slice of pizza that looked stale, but since I was really hungry, I decided to give it a try. When I asked the worker how long ago it was made, I was told it had been made just 30 minutes prior. This was clearly a lie as the slice was hard and unappetizing.
For a place that charges $4 per slice, I expected much better quality. I hope they can improve their standards in the future, but based on my experience, I won't be returning.
I took 2 bites threw out the slices and proceeded to head over to another establishment that sold pizzas at the same price and had a 5/5 experience compared to...
