Consistent & Customized. Good Chinese food with consistency in flavor no matter what time you dine in, busy or not. Being consistently good clearly shows such expertise and professionalism. Able to ā€œcustomizeā€ the food by request, all you need to do is ask if it’s possible. Usually, for customers with allergies on certain ingredients or if one prefers chicken instead of duck. Egg Foo Young, and Pineapple Fried Rice are personal favorites and basis if a Chinese restaurant is good. Hardworking Staff. Typically jam-packed everytime. One of the indicators that a restaurant serves excellent food. Nevertheless, well trained staff can be able to accommodate you in no time, that is if there’s an available table for you. Old-Fashioned and Clean. A clean and old fashioned ambience which you typically see in a Chinese restaurant with round tables and Chinese-style chairs. Usually 90% of the customers are Chinese-Canadians. Atmosphere is bustling with customers and staff conversing with each other everytime.

This is bad, bad, bad… like really bad. Like so bad. The service was jaw dropping… I don’t think anyone ever really spoke to us. We both bite into our shrimp rolls to find them raw. When we told the waitress, she said ā€˜oh’ took it away and that was it 😬 we were still charged for them. Our vegetarian rice was nice until my husband bit into something orange and sharpe which made him yelp, we showed the waitress and asked what it was… she then pointed to a different table and said ā€˜that!’…. She was pointing at lobster 🫠 we didn’t order lobster!!!! Literally not one bit of concern from the staff. The pork ribs had zero meat, only fat, not sure if this was on purpose, but it was wild, all fat, no meat and saltier than a block of salt. The staff don’t talk to you. They don't engage at all, we had some wanton soup thrown in our direction with our ever a word… The food is terrible, the service is worse and the experience was startling. 100% do no recommend this place.

Tl;dr: owner steals from own employees.

I will preface this by saying I absolutely adore this restaurant and the wait staff. The ladies take such great care of my family and I whenever we eat there. My parents live in the community so we usually do family dinner there once in a while.

We were there for dinner this past Sunday for my sister's bday and my father paid the bill. Usually I pay and I tip on the machine but my dad paid. As we were starting to leave the servers came over with fortune cookies "for the kids" (my sisters and I) and put down an empty billfold and said we could leave our tip there. I thought it was rather strange that my dad didn't tip, he usually does at least 10% and I'll usually add more in. I asked the owner at the front and she very eagerly showed me the credit card slip with no tip added so I just chalked it up to a mistake on Dad's part and there down some cash ($20 on $125).

When we went outside I teased my dad about being a cheap Asian dad and he was so shocked. He said he left $15 in cash after paying by credit card! I said, well maybe she didn't realize that you had left it, and he said it was impossible and went inside.

The owner insisted that he didn't tip and showed the credit card slip again. Dad insisted he left cash and by now all the servers had gathered by the front. The owner started to say, oh well maybe I didn't see you leave it, and he looked her in the eyes and said, "That's impossible because I handed three 5 dollar bills to you directly and you took it from my hand."

So this owner had decided to pocket the cash herself and deceive her own staff and sent them to ask for more cash for tip! She literally was pushing this credit card slip as proof my dad "didn't tip" when he handed her cash directly! And insisted on lying up to the very moment my dad called her out on her lie!

What a skeezy and sleezy way to run a business! Nevermind you're stealing from your own staff who you're probably only paying minimum wage! I'm torn between wanting to support the wait staff and the kitchen staff and loving this restaurant that's so close to my parents' house but not wanting to support this terrible owner who steals from her own employees!

Re: reply from owner

Yes, my dad did call out her lie. He looked at her and said, "how can you deny receiving the money when I put it right in your hand?" It was only after that, that she admitted to receiving the money. How dare you come and continue to lie on a public site. There were multiple witnesses. You should be ashamed of yourself and your business practice, stealing from your own staff. The owner who took payment at the front repeatedly shoved the credit card slip in our faces insisting my dad left no tip and only when he called her out, she "suddenly remembered" that she received the money. I left that extra $20 for my servers who always provided excellent service who deserve not to have their hard earned tips...

Updated: 2025 Mar 1 After many complaints from customers to AHS, the place is finally FORCED SHUT DOWN from health authorities for multiple infractions, complacency to address ongoing issues, and just plain too many people getting ill after eating here. The original review had 2 star for food, 1 star for service and 1 star for atmosphere. In light of the severe infraction that prompted AHS to shut the business down, I've changed the food to 1 star - zero if there was an option.

Beware of this restaurant if you don't want to end up seriously sick from their food.

Original 2023 Reviiew WORST service ever!! This place will make your blood boil with the overcrowding and abnoxious servers - all condoned and exemplified by the owners and their family members. Cheap dine-in pricing attracts the loud, senior Hong Kong crowd in drones here but realize what you'll be experiencing at a slightly discounted check. "We don't give a flying hoot about you so shut up or get out", is how you'll feel if you dine here.

Besides the obvious cleanliness and hygiene issues reflected by the ceiling, walls and floors, their well hidden kitchen will make you throw up if you're unlucky enough to catch a glimpse. Blood stained boxes and raw thawing meats sit right beside your finished order because of tight spacing. Not sure if my sickness after eating here was caused by contamination or psychological trauma from seeing food preparation.

The only question after eating here isn't, "will I return?" but "why is this place still allowed to operate?" The dirty wet markets in China and Hong Kong are still cleaner...

Following up on owner's response to "Tl;dr: owner steals from own employees": He paid the bill via credit and tipped three $5 bills separately. When my father went in to confront her, at first she wouldn't admit it and tried to suggest he left it on the table and she never saw it but he looks her in the eye and says "I handed three $5 bills to your HAND". After a few more exchanges she finally looks down on the table, mutters to herself and admits it unwillingly. But get this, she had the audacity to say she put the $15 towards our bill. Our bill was paid in credit before my father handed her the cash tip. At this point all the waiters were listening in because we are known to tip very well at that restaurant. You shamelessly lie hoping to save face when the owner was clearly caught red handed in front of everyone. Your comprehension skills seem to be lacking a bit so let me help you out: the waiters gave us a billfold and said "you can leave the tip in here" after our dad had already paid at the front, so what do you mean "she wasn't trying to pressure you into giving one"? Furthermore, you didn't mention this part and even lied about what happened. The minute she admitted my father handed the three $5 bills to her hands THEN offers the $20 back, is that not calling out her lies? Then you continue to blame your own customers, the ONLY reason why you're still in business. Get off your high horse and learn how to properly manage a restaurant without skimming from your...
