Sometimes, in the urban industrial wasteland, you'll find a hidden gem. This is one of those places!!!
Stuck somewhere unassuming in the middle of the warehouses and hotels up by YYC, you'll find Railyard Brewing.
Marked only by a sign, high above the front door among everything that looks the same... You'd expect only that - just the same. This place is anything but.
Walking through the front door you are welcomed by an inviting glow and a case holding some of the things they are most proud of.
On your way passed the bar, the aesthetic of the place starts to take hold. The decor is semi-industrial - fitting to the area - with awesome graffiti on the wall.
The food menu features familiar favourites - pizzas, sandwiches and bar snacks. They take every opportunity they can to incorporate their craft brews as ingredients in their dishes. The pizza features a fantastically crispy, yet chewy crust! Everything I've tried so far is amazing! The presentation never lets you down, even the vegetables are still al dente in the soups
I highly recommend the Pesto Cauliflower Sub, their Pretzel Crouton Kale Caesar and the Loaded Nacho Fries.
They offer so many beers, made in house and available in most liquor stores. You'll have to swing by for their taproom exclusives, which are only available at this location - including Anita.
She was super knowledgeable, ready with recommendations and an absolute gem - just...

Read moreOur first time was great. Beers and food were perfect and the bar attendant was phenomenal. Today we wanted to repeat the experience. Unfortunately "Kaily" , an immature and very unpleasant person with zero customer service skills, made us change our opinion about this place. Today was our last visit. 1. My glass was dirty. It had pink lipstick left on it. We asked for a clean glass. When she returned with the new glass she practically dropped the glass and spilled my beverage. She didn't care. We ordered the charcuterie plate. When she brought the plate to our table she just threw it on the table, spilling some of our food on the table. Once again she did not care. We discussed the bad attitude with her and she didn't care either. In the past I spoke with my friends at the airport about this place but now I am going to tell them about this bad experience. EVERYBODY deserves to be respected and if she does not know how to deal with the public in a public sector industry then she should look elsewhere for employment, but first work on being respectful to others and giving good...
