Had a disappointing experience today at the Tim Hortons drive-thru on 19th Street NE, Calgary. My friend and I ordered 2 coffees, and when we tapped to pay at the window, we were told the total was $5. That seemed a bit high, so we asked for the breakdown. The staff member then checked and admitted she had accidentally billed us for 3 coffees instead of 2 and said a refund would be processed.
They did issue the refund of $1.67 right away and we appreciate that. But the concern remains — how were we charged for 3 coffees when we only ordered 2? If we hadn’t questioned the amount, this could’ve gone completely unnoticed.
This raises a genuine concern: in such cases, if the customer doesn’t ask or notice, what happens to the extra amount? Is there a possibility that a refund could be processed to a different card — and could staff misuse that? I’m not accusing anyone, but it’s something that needs clarification from the management.
Also, to be very clear — I do not want any staff member to be penalized. It looked like an honest human error. But as a customer, I believe we deserve transparency and it’s important to know what steps are in place to prevent such mistakes from happening again.
I have both receipts — one showing the overcharge and one showing the refund. I’d appreciate a response from the management explaining how such cases are handled and how accuracy is ensured at the...
Read moreThis is the worst tim hortons anywhere! Their inexperienced and minimal staff barely speaks English, their "scarcely available" food item choices are ALWAYS 100% OLD & STALE or unavailable. The staff taking and preparing your order NEVER get your order correct, they do NOT prepare food items correctly (ie. Farmets Breakfast Wrap which we just picked up was prepared with only egg and cheese despite the fact that these wraps are supposed to contain egg, cheese, chipotle sauce, bacon/sausage, AND a hash brown). Oh and if you have tile to waste, try ordering in store and you can experience a wait of 10 minutes at least to get even a basic order like a coffee and donut....even with no one else in line in front or behind you!!
This is not a single bad experience btw...ITS AN EVERY TIME EXPERIENCE. sadly this HORRIBLE TIM HORTONS is the only coffee shop located anywhere near the Hampton Hotel, Homewoid Suites and the Wyndam Hotel in the airport area (NE Calgary by Airport Trail) and when you are in a hurry - theres no choice but to ATTEMPT to get a Tim Hortons coffee (or food). My husband and I frequently travel and have had over 20 bad experiences at this location...as such, I STRONGLY SUGGEST HEADING TO STARBUCKS OR ANY OTHER TIM HORTONS OR EVEN A 7-11 FOLKS!
THIS PLACE...
Read moreI love Tim and I am here at Calgary for a trip with my family. I have been to so many different locations but never had to experience this worst customer service. I am from Toronto and I know what busy is since I worked in restaurant industry too. I ordered 4 croissants toasted with Jam and they gave us jam besides saying its busy which was not the case. Order was taken by a lady who had time to talk with another customer in their local language who seems to be her friend. Also I asked to fill water in tim cups which I already had and she asked me to do it myself on another counter. Even in the busiest location I have seen a best customer service where they complete the order and gave rather than customer to do it themselves. Worst experience ever. And the attitude was so bad towards us too.
We ordered the same thing the day before on Monday and they gave us croissant with Jam inside. But the Morning staff on Tuesday was lazy and irresponsible. I hope this Tim will take proper responsibility of the customers and do finish their job rather than telling...
