Called in an order for pick up, I was placed on hold with out a conformation that I was calling to order , I could have been anyone. My wait on hold lasted 25 minutes in which time I had decided to go down and see if I could get service directly? I arrived and explained I had been on hold for twenty five minutes and was still on hold as the surprised server hung up the phone . How many orders where lost in this Time ? Hate to be that owner Friday night 5:45 - 6:15 I’m feeling that’s prime time . they where apologetic and took my order …….. I had a beverage while I waited another 25 minutes to receive my order ( salmon burgers fries pulled pork burger fries and some pickles 18 percent tip no add one for inconvenience I guess I shouldn’t assume any would be provided, upon returning home my order was cold and soggy we had to use our air fryer to heat up our fries and deep fried pickles before we could fully enjoy this meal all in $71 dollars and change really expected more we have eaten here quite often as we are local and try support local , during Covid I tipped on pick up and I am continue to perhaps that’s the problem servers feel they are entitled to my tip ……? I work hard for my money no more tips until it’s earned that’s eat in or pick up at this establishment thanks...

Waiting for the next Ferry, we stumbled upon this cute cafe/restaurant. Sitting on the patio right next to the pier we watched the ebb and flo of water underneath, with thousands of rock crabs and some star fishes battling it out for shade and food under the glittering wings of dragonflies hovering above water. The place was immaculately clean, decor was like any other seashore place with seashells, conches, ships in bottles and everything blue and marine...but calmer and not too cluttered. Appropriate to July, there was salsa music playing from a Spotify list. service was amazing; friendly, personalized and very inviting. The food we ordered was grilled Salmon burgers with Yam fries , Beer battered fish and chips, caeser salad, Zoo sticks, Crab cakes and TONS of tartar sauce, just the way I requested. Washrooms: You cannot ask for a more cleaner, simpler and everything you need is there place. The owner, Diane Young seemed like a very hardworking but very humble lady. She was proud of her work and so kudos to her. On my next visit I plan to Kayak the waters as part of their extended service. Do check it out if on...

About 5 years ago, my husband and I had happened upon seahorses after an afternoon at Butchart Gardens. We loved it. So naturally when returning on a trip with my inlaws we were excited to go.

First, the menu online on their website is not the menu onsite. They no longer serve fish & chips.

The soup tasted like a canned chowder. The crab cakes are not made in house. Nor presumably the fish tacos. The prices were very expensive for what you got. The fish tacos pictured were $17 for three small tacos. The garlic bread with the chowder was nice.

We waited over an hour (bordering on 90 minutes) for our food. Only when I went to see what was going on was I told that they were down a cook and that they were working on our food..... almost 20 mins later our food came.

They did discount our food which while appreciated didn't make up for the abysmal experience. We won't be returning. Terrible. Terrible. Such a huge disappointment from our previous visit....

I have been to this gem a few times with family. This was a treat for a friend's birthday lunch. When we showed up the place was packed however we were told there were several current customers who had paid their bill and were expected to leave shortly. We were seated outside as we waited for a table which was less than 10 minutes. Once the table was cleared we were welcomed inside. It was a little cloudy and windy for sitting outside this day. Our waitress greeted us and quickly took our beverage orders along with our lunch order. The food was freshly prepared and arrived quickly. My friend enjoyed the Lettuce wraps while I enjoyed the Mermaid Wrap. The atmosphere is lovely at the Seahorse as you are right by the water. Dessert choices are fabulous and we each took a treat home for our hubby. I highly recommend this great little spot. Reservations are suggested. #seahorsecafe

Delicious lunch at this cafe. It was quite busy around 2:00 but we were able to get a nice table on the deck/patio with a nice view of the water and mountains. The drinks were delicious, we agreed it was the best long island iced tea we've ever had. The crab cake appetizer was delicious; hot and fresh - the salad that came with it was huge!!! But again, the veggies were fresh and tasted great. The chicken burger was good (it came with a deep dried pickle, which was not to my taste) and the shrimp wrap with avocado was fantastic ... it was so big I was sad I couldn't finish it. To top it off, they were out of the daily soup so I was offered the free upgrade for their seafood chowder... it was amazing! The server was friendly and attentive to our needs.
