My partner and I decided to go to Brentwood Bay Resort for a spa day for my Birthday. We decided to utilize the âwonderfulâ resort we had thought that Arbutus room was a great option for some breakfast and then to the pub after our pool and massage. The breakfast didnât turn out as well as I planned, nor did we end up making it to the pub.
We arrived on Friday the 27th at 10:50 am There are only about two other tables there it was very dead. I ordered the salmon eggs Benny and I asked for the eggs to be medium poached. At first, I wasnât impressed with the hashbrowns, but I was hungry so began tasting them and then realized when I started eating my Benny the eggs were very hard and the entire rest of the Benny was soggy. I had half of the first Benny and some potatoes. I told the waiter and explained that the eggs were very hard and potatoes were very hard and burnt. The entire dish was just cold and not really up to standards, gave the dish back. My partners breakfast sandwich was bait and the egg was very much medium was delicious which he shared with me.
When it came to pay for the bill we paid for the entire two meals gave and game me 10% discount off of my meal, I didnât eat. needless to say I was a bit caught off guard with their protocol; I would have thought a higher-end hotel dinging room would at take the entire amount off the bill like other local restaurants and even especially that we had paid over $400.00 to use their facilities and spa treatments. After our spa we decided not to bother trying the pub for dinner and went somewhere else.
Maybe the dinner/pub is better however in my opinion there are far better places to go eat breakfast...
Read moreWe were staying at the Brentwood Bay resort and had breakfast at the Arbutus Room. The dining experience was horrible. Food is bad and the service is even more terrible. When we got there, the staffs looked at us and then looked away. It was not crowded there, only a couple tables. They looked at us without greeting and then turned to each other. That happened a few times like they were discussing who should take care of us. They treated us like we were inferior.
Then came the food. I ordered the healthy start. They brought out yogurt with no spoon and expected me to eat yogurt with a fork. The âhomemadeâ granola was the worst I have ever eaten, like those cheap energy bar got chopped up. Yogurt was served with cantaloupe and pineapples đŤđ¤˘đ¤Ž. The pineapples were sour which made it pretty gross. The menu describes the âhealthy startâ to include berries. Little that I knew the âthe berriesâ only meant 1 single tiny strawberry with the calyx still attached.
The waitress came over and asked if everything was good. I answered âit is okayâ. Her response was âjust okay?â without even asking what was not good. Her tone was like how dare you just say the food is just okay.
Overall, service was really bad, rude and disorganized even when the restaurant was slow. Food was bad. Although the stay at the Brentwood Bay Resort was awesome, too bad we left that place at a bad note. If you stay there, your money will be better spent...
Read moreWe booked a weekend at the resort and dinner at the dining room to celebrate our mums 70th birthday months in advance, requesting a table near a window given the special occasion (which honestly could have been anywhere in the dining room). When we arrived, we were very confused when they informed us they were overbooked and offered us a table set up in the lobby outside the main dining room. We expressed our disappointment and asked if the last two tables, a neighboring 6 and 2 top, left in the restaurant could be pushed together for us. The host was rude, unapologetic, and seemed to be amused when telling us they were already reserved. It was like observing an adolescent male with his first job reveling in an unnecessary power trip. Rubbing salt in the wound was that the 2 top was never occupied, and the group of six that arrived 20 minutes had their food ordered and served first. The staff could have done a million things to amend the situation (like a genuine apology, or an offer to move us into the dining room as tables became available â which they could have prior to any food arriving), but instead they did absolutely nothing, leaving a sad stain on an overwise lovely weekend. The food was fantastic and the wild mushroom risotto was the best Iâd ever tasted. Itâs too bad the front-of-house had no concept of hospitality and failed to offer anything close to the quality of service offered by...
