Bistro la Traite — Restaurant in Châteauguay

Food very good, too bad I can't say the same about the service. Went on a Sunday, was nearly empty (3 tables sitting only) showed up as a party of 4 and the waitress was hesitant to tell us to sit down because "she was alone for the evening" (never worked in a busy restaurant before? 4 tables to wait for isn't exactly being overworked...). Took our order and served in an acceptable time, but never bothered coming back to the table to refill our glasses or to ask if we needed anything. To be noted that only 1 more table showed up while we were there (party of 6) and 2 of the 3 tables that were there when we showed up finished up and left while we were eating, so it's not like it was extremely busy... I have been out of town for the last 20 years and now back every weekend as I am at the marina close by. Was very excited when my friend introduced this restaurant to me. Nice place, atmosphere was also nice and the menu had good selections. That being said we started with the calamari and it was REALLY good, nice and thick but also tender, the batter could have used more seasoning but overall it was very good. I ordered the salmon tartar for the main meal and I was disappointed. It was just okay, it was very fad in taste and lacked seasoning. The salad was also over dressed. My friend ordered the beef tartar and it was the total opposite. Pricing on drinks was actually better priced than most places of this caliber. I will...

J’ai récemment eu le plaisir de dîner au Bistro La Traite à Châteauguay, et je suis ravi de partager mon expérience. Ce restaurant offre une ambiance vraiment géniale : l'atmosphère est à la fois conviviale et élégante, créant un cadre parfait pour une soirée détendue.

Le restaurant est impeccable en termes de propreté, ce qui est toujours un bon point. Le service est également à la hauteur des attentes : le personnel est attentif, courtois et fait preuve d’une grande efficacité, rendant l’expérience culinaire encore plus agréable.

En ce qui concerne les plats, je dois dire que la majorité des choix étaient délicieux. La soupe à l'oignon, en particulier, était excellente – riche en saveurs et parfaitement équilibrée. Les autres plats que j’ai goûtés étaient également très bons, mettant en avant une cuisine savoureuse et bien préparée.

Cependant, il y a eu un petit bémol : le tartare de saumon. Malheureusement, il ne correspondait pas à nos attentes. Il manquait d’assaisonnement, ce qui a rendu le goût assez fade. De plus, la découpe était mal réalisée, avec de gros morceaux qui étaient difficiles à manger et peu agréables en bouche.

Mon ami Denis-Dany a insisté pour que je partage mon avis afin d’aider ceux qui hésitent à choisir leur plat. Je recommande sans réserve le Bistro La Traite pour ses nombreux points forts, mais je suggérerais de passer sur le tartare de saumon pour l’instant.

En résumé, Bistro La Traite est une excellente adresse à Châteauguay pour une soirée agréable avec une grande partie du menu à découvrir. N’hésitez pas à goûter à leurs autres plats savoureux et à profiter de l’accueil...
