The food tasted great, but there were two issues that I experienced on my third visit to this restaurant. I've been here prior to COVID for PEI Burger love, and it was amazing!! This past visit was May of 2024, and I was offered menu choices that I felt were a bit expensive, but surely the smoked meat would be worth the expense, so I ordered 1/2 lb of beef brisket, and 1/4 lb of pulled pork that I expected to share with my girlfriend as a late lunch/supper, and as it was a Tuesday before full tourist season, I was one of three customers in the restaurant . I thought I had ordered 1/2 lb and 1/4 lb with a side of baked beans and a side of coleslaw, and with tip the bill was a hefty, and I was served with a smile and the wait was not excessive. When I got the meal home I was rather disappointed, very much so as I felt that I'd been shortchanged, but the bill was correct, I'd only been charged for two 1/4 lb meals with small sides, so the accounting was correct, but the order was not, as I clearly ordered the 1/2 lb of brisket. Further, I didn't order pulled brisket, traditionally it is sliced or left whole, but once in while you may run into super soft meat that cannot be cut and shreds. I get it, but I feel that the meat could have been served sliced rather than shredded. The meat had been stored and reheated. My girlfriend and I smoke our own briskets now and then, and I was expecting better as we are amateurs, but the pork was wet with water, possibly condensate, as was the beef to a lesser degree. It would have been nice to have still had that smoked crust with rendered out fat. Overall, it was a poor showing, and I felt that my money would have been better spent heading to the grocery store, buying a pork shoulder and tossing it into the oven or a crock pot for something more satisfying that would have cost less. The flavour was good, the presentation and price need to improve. Take that price for a 1/4 pound of pork, now quadruple it for a full pound and you might agree that it is one of the most expensive pounds of pork you will ever taste with toast, bread and butter pickles and beans. :) The beans were quite good, and medium is one large serving in my case.

Charlottetown location. We were really looking forward to getting take out. We ordered a pint of Mac n cheese, 2 tomato soups which has the price under pint but you don’t get a pint (see photo), a grilled cheese, chopped brisket sandwich and a pulled pork plate, which should have come with a slice of bread and pickles but neither were with our order. Soup was good not great but tasty enough. Mac n cheese was really hard in areas, the pulled pork had hardly any sauce on it, the grilled cheese sandwich was underwhelming, it would have been nicer on some better bread, my husband says his brisket was “alright, and not enough meat for what you pay”. The staff didn’t really seem to care much. Overall a disappointing experience & we could of got better food elsewhere for what we paid.

My family & I ate here for the first time yesterday and to be honest, it's one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere was charming but the service was really what made it. I believe the young man's name was Aren, but I'm likely wrong, he was the sweetest server with such a positive disposition and genuinely helpful manner. We spoke of how good the food was and you can see his passion for what he does and for the people. Then, we saw him again today at a different location and he even remembered us, out of all the tourists he must see. Because of him, we're planning on coming back. The delicious grilled cheeses with perfect cheese pull and fantastic Mac and cheese definitely had nothing to do with it. 😉

Tried this spot this evening .☹️ First of all, I wanted to order the Mac & cheese bowl but as I approached the counter , the first thing I was told was there was no more Mac & cheese , just gave the last bowl . Ok , fair enough so I ordered the grilled bacon tomato sandwich and my husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I was sitting waiting for my order when a staff came out with a bowl of Mac and Cheese and approached the only other table with people sitting there to ask them if they ordered this Mac & Cheese , they did not . There was no other customers there other than myself and my husband. I was not given the option of being asked if I would like to buy it . Then my husband’s name was called as our order was ready . No, they made my sandwich but not my husband’s so my husband had to sit and wait and watch me eat most of mine then he went to the counter and his was finally ready. While my husband stood at the counter waiting , he noticed three bowls of Mac & Cheese sitting on the counter behind . A staff stated those weren’t fit for sale so staff is taking them home . My husband expressed his disbelief and displeasure . My husband came back to the table and told me this . I was pissed! A staff person who had a insincere sickly sweet attitude with a smirk on her face , approached our table stating the Mac and cheese behind the counter was overly cooked and not fit for sale ( but fit for staff to take home) I told this staff that I should have been given the choice if I wanted to buy it . She just repeated the same speech with much attitude and an insincere apology with exaggerated fake sweetness . Then returned behind the counter to tell the co staff what our issue was , much smirking and attitude from her and co staff . My husband went up to the counter and raised his voice as he expressed what he thought of their unprofessional behavior and attitude. The same staff came back to the table with the smirk and fake apology and returned our money for the sandwich part of our purchases. You would think getting part of our money returned would solve everything but actually she saw me filling out the comment cards and shouted out “ my name is Lynn“ with attitude and that smirk that i would love to have smacked off her face , if I was that kind of person . I don’t know whether that was or was not her name but shouted back that I added her name , my name and my phone number as well. She was still saying stuff I couldn’t make out when my husband went up to counter to yell at them. Disgusting! Incompetent staff! , who wanted to save the last of the Mac and cheese for themselves as far as I can see and the worst attitude which is truly maddening and made us angry ! Having our money returned didn’t make up for the terrible attitudes ! After working 12hrs and hoping to catch a quick bite at a new spot turned disastrous ,We went home extremely pissed and upset at the treatment we received ! We will never darken their door and I will share my experience with anyone I can . I hope to avoid anyone else getting the...

I'm from Vancouver British Columbia where we have amazing restaurants and one of a kind food trucks. So when I saw PEI had a Grill cheesery I was very excited to try it. My first impression when walking in , I found it a clean, warm atmosphere with lots of seating and good local advertising for PEI products.

I had originally wanted to order the Tomato and basil sandwich which was number 2 on the menu board, but I was told they didnt have and basil. My husband and I ended up ordering the two most popular sandwiches according to the employee. We shared the smoked beef brisket and bacon and Apple jelly with a side of mac and cheese.

Beef brisket $ 13.95. (Drink not included. Extra $2.49 for a 4.75ml local ADL chocolate milk) The meat was very tender and the smoke flavor was on point. Good amount of meat in sandwich. Came on plain white bread with a white award-winning cheddar. (no other bread, or cheese options available) we found the bread to be very dry and bland. It definitely needed to be grilled with butter or mayonnaise for a little extra crackly-crisp, buttery, golden exterior that we all crave. Sandwich came with kettle chips. Unfortunately I got the last bit from the bottem of the bag so all I got was a bunch of tiny pieces and crumbs.

Bacon and Apple jelly $10.95 (drink not included) Personally I found this to be quite sweet after the first two bites. But over all the combination of apple jelly, cheddar cheese and bacon worked well together. (Again no other opinions for bread or cheese). Also came with kettle chips.

Medium Mac and cheese side order. $6 Most people would consider the medium size to be more of a small, and the small to be called a mini. The mac and cheese was definitely very creamy. Well I did enjoy it , it seemed to be missing somthing. Perhaps another type of cheese besides cheddar or maybe some kind of herb or spice.

Over all I believe that if the Grill cheesery wants to keep local business coming back then they are going need to up the menu. Start by Added a few options for bread like a sourdough or rye and other cheese like pepper jack cheddar for a nice kick ,sharp cheddar, or...
