Anita's is consistently amazing. Their breads and pastry are top-notch, coffees are well made, and staff are friendly. The cookies, cruffins, and scones are unreal. Also their croissants or anything made with the croissant dough.
I really like that they started offering sourdough pizza dough as well. It takes 48-72 hours to make a really good pizza dough and sometimes I want to fire up the pizza oven last minute.
I love this place. Easily the best baked goods in town.
UPDATE MAY 30 In the past week, the staff at Anita's have gone above and beyond on two separate occasions.
On Thursday, I went in to get some pizza dough. There were none in the fridge. I asked and they quickly made me some on the spot.
Today, I went in just to get a bag of coffee as I had run out, completely forgetting Anita's is closed on Mondays. I pulled on the door and it was locked. There were staff inside working on something and one came to the door to remind me they're closed. He asked what I had come for and I told him I had just come for a bag of coffee. He got me a bag of coffee despite the fact that they were closed.
I should also mention that while I was picking up the pizza dough on Thursday, there was a woman who was completely unhinged complaining about a staff member's "aggressive gestures". The woman was out of line and abusive to staff. The same guy that helped me with the coffee calmly dealt with her and de-escalated the situation, getting her to leave and avoided further incident.
The service at this place continues to amaze me every...
Read moreWe were planning breakfast at Little Beetle on Saturday, but after learning it was an hour-long wait, we started exploring the area and found Anita’s nearby – we’re SO happy we did!
Their store is tucked away out of sight from the main road, but if you head around to the left and to the back of the building, you’ll see the big red sign. You’ll likely also see me n’ Kirsten out front enjoying one of the incredible baked goods we discovered, because we’re going to be regulars now.
Andrea was working, and she’s just the nicest gal ever. If the baked goods were just mediocre we’d still buy them, just for Andrea’s genuine smile and kindness. But nothing is mediocre here – from our first experience, I’m thinking there isn’t a wrong choice. Even the coffee was great. Oh, and bonus points for the sustainable wooden cutlery.
We had 3 cookies – chocolate chip, almond, and a hardy little oatmeal/granola cookie – all amazing in the eyes (and mouth) of this unapologetic cookie snob – and a chocolate-drizzled croissant that should be the benchmark for all other bakeries to aspire to.
If you love baked goods as we do, this is a must-visit spot if you’re...
Read moreWe were coming back from a camping trip and searched for a local bakery with high ratings on Google Maps and this came up. The store is very nice from inside, very clean, neat, well organized and refreshing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Two stars for these two. The location is in an industrial/business area and not very obvious to find on Google Maps. We ordered hot drinks... They were served in glass cups with no handle or sleeve which made it difficult to carry (almost dangerous to fall due to the heat). One of us ordered mocha... It was way below average as it's more watery and the chocolate is quite sugary. The croissant and other baked stuff are pretty mediocre. Lost 3 stars for all of that. While I feel this place may deserve better rating but to be fair I will stick with this. This place has, definitely, the potential to be a 5 star if they address this l, mostly,...
