I was racially profiled at this Starbucks, served a cold drink, and then told to dump it in the bathroom. No apology. No follow-up.
This experience was not just disappointing — it was infuriating. I used to visit this location almost daily as I work in Leduc. But after what happened on April 24th, 2025, I will never be returning.
Here’s what happened: I walked into the store and was waiting to place my order. Instead of being greeted with a simple “Hi” or “How can I help you?”, the barista — I believe her name was "Alexi" or "Alexis" — looked at me and immediately asked, “Picking up for who?”
I wasn’t holding a delivery bag or anything that would suggest I was a delivery driver. That assumption — made without any context — felt like racial profiling, plain and simple.
I placed my usual order: a hot latte. It took 14 minutes to make, even though the drive-thru was moving quickly. When I finally got the drink, I asked for a sleeve — but the cup was cold. I took a sip, and it confirmed what I suspected: the milk hadn't even been steamed.
I went back to the counter to let her know. No apology. No accountability. She just said, “Okay, I’ll remake it.” When I asked if I could leave the first drink on the counter, she responded, “No, go dump it in the bathroom and throw the cup there — there’s a garbage.”
Seriously? I don’t work there. She could’ve easily taken it back and dumped it in the sink like any normal customer service interaction, but instead made it my problem.
I left with the remade drink, and once I got to work, I called the store. A shift supervisor named Colleen answered. She was kind and apologetic, and told me the store manager would follow up.
It’s now May 6th. No one ever called. No one ever followed up. I never went back to this location ever since this incident, and I’m sharing this so others know how poorly customers — especially people of colour — can be treated here. Do better...
Read moreWe ordered from door dash, the order showed up with a cracked drink that has leaked all over another coffee and croissant. When the order arrived the bag and contents were in such bag condition the dash driver refused to give it to me and went back to the store for another order. Where he was told to just give us the croissant and coffee anyway even though they were soaked in the drink that had cracked. He then called me to inform me of what they were trying to do. The order we then received after had only one drink. At this point I was frustrated enough to call the location myself. The woman I spoke with denied it was their location multiple times until I told her my dash driver personally called me and told me it was infact that location. After admitting that I fact it was them that did that she then gave me extreme attitude and hung up on me saying she doesn’t have to “put up with being talked to like that”. The entitlement and disrespect was disgusting! I will never be ordering from this location and if any management is reading this I would appreciate them contacting me to disscuss this further. Horrible customer service and overall service. For the price point of these items I expense them to show up in...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed by what I witnessed. Every time I visit this location, it’s clear the team is overwhelmed and understaffed. The environment feels chaotic and far from the “Starbucks Experience” the company promotes. Nearly every visit involves waiting over 10 minutes, and I genuinely feel for the baristas, who appear to be receiving little to no support from management, as the manager continues to sit at the table while her employees are struggling.
Most concerning, during a visit with my mother on Sunday, I saw a barista sitting with what seemed to be another employee. They were brought a drink by a staff member, and after they left the table, we noticed the cup had “kill me” written on it. This is deeply troubling. If employees are resorting to expressing themselves like this, it’s a clear sign that they are not being properly supported or cared for.
It’s disheartening, and honestly, it makes me hesitate to return—not because of the staff, but out of concern for their well-being. This is unacceptable and far removed from what loyal customers expect from Starbucks. Management needs to step up. This is not the kind of experience anyone should have to witness, let alone work...
