The food was honestly - just awful, the service was great and the atmosphere was, meh.
I got myself the #9 combo.
The egg roll was good and the portion size was acceptable, definitely not as generous as some other locations but not bad either, the chicken balls were, mediocre, they were unseasoned but they were a decent size and the sauce was okay.
Now onto the rest of it..
The chicken fried rice - had no chicken and no vegetables! It was damn near flavorless. It was basically just rice cooked with what I assume was the soul of a recently deceased chicken trying to give me one blessing before it went to chicken heaven.
The honey garlic ribs? More like pig fingertips! Seriously though there was basically no meat and it was the most basic honey garlic flavor that you could just buy in a bottle at a dollar store, and I have to assume that maybe the ribs were - thawed out and microwaved or boiled because they were weirdly slimy.
Speaking of slimy, let's talk about the Chicken "Chow Mein" because this was easily the worst part of the dish, there were maybe two pieces - no small cubes of chicken mixed in with I think microwaved onion? Cabbage? Honestly I couldn't tell you because I could not discern any flavor from it other than salt.
Onto the service, they were very friendly and helpful! So they're doing a great job there 👍
And finally the atmosphere, it's nothing special, had some nice but slightly aged looking seating and I think what's popular on the radio/Spotify playing in the background, nothing bad but really nothing special or standout.
This place is worth the money, but I don't think it is worth your time as there's literally a better spot at a more convenient location in town.
I forgot to take a picture of my food because it was just sad to look at, if I had to describe it though, I'd use the word 'lifeless'. Maybe I got them on an off day, it happens but I won't be going back any time soon to see if it...
Read moreWe found this restaurant as we were driving through it as a neighbouring town as "staycationers".
It was authentic food, good quality, nice portions, it's clean and spacious and GREAT staff!
The food was fresh, and made very quickly. It looked like it had room dividers and could host a private party (when and if pandemic rules lift/allow).
It has nice tidy bathrooms and it was just an amazing worth while experience for some International cuisine.
I would definately drop by again if ever passing through the town or make a special stop off for a quiet sit down to rest the nerves after some hours driving on the highway. It's also close to a Walmart and Canadian Tire for those passing through requiring supply stop on a road trip with camper vans and trailers (larger parking lots close by to park at and shop and dine). It's just a nice hidden gem for some really unique and mouth watering...
Read moreI travel Newfoundland quarterly for work and was lucky one evening to stumble upon Uncle Li's so I tried the Kung Pao Chicken extra spicy. Well I can tell you that now this place is ALWAYS on my radar should my schedule cooperate. Although I loved the Kung Pao Chicken (and they will ratchet the spice level to meet your needs), I've also tried three different dishes and they've all been honestly great! With respect to service and atmosphere it's a personal opinion but let's be real, we go to restaurants for the food and I find this restaurant a true jewel in the rough! Singapore...
