Country Perks Bar&grill — Restaurant in Clarington

I wasn’t initially going to say anything but I have been struggling with an upset stomach since eating the meal from here.

We ordered through Skip. I’m aware it was quite a large order but I was shocked by the quality of food. I usually LOVE this place for Thai food but today was such a disappointment. I ordered 3 pad thai (one beef and two with chicken) in which the chicken was not included in the two pad thai. I also ordered Thai coconut soup with chicken and veggies as well as crispy tofu bites. Well, the soup only had 6 mushrooms and absolutely nothing else in it but an oily separated broth that tasted so sour that I believe that something in it had gone bad. The peanut sauce that comes with the crispy tofu was put in the bag with a completely split lid and the sauce got everywhere. Things were carelessly packed and the food was very clearly carelessly made.

For the last few hours, multiple of us have had quite upset stomachs which is concerning especially when we spent just over $90 on meals that only one of which actually had the protein we ordered out of 4 full meals.

I just visited for the second time and I’m officially obsessed. My husband and I popped in for a late lunch date, and wow, this place continues to impress. The menu is so enticing, full of bold and mouthwatering options. I’m already planning to try something different every time I go.

I had the wings again (yes, round two!) and they were just as incredible as the first time. Lightly breaded with a batter that’s seriously next-level. Definitely in my top 3 favorite tasting wings. And the fries? That fine flour coating adds such a subtle but addictive flavor. Just genius.

My husband went for the basil chicken and enjoyed it very much though admittedly, he’s a spice lightweight and found it a touch too fiery for his palate. I snagged a bite and instantly thought, this chef knows flavor!

And the service, can’t say enough good things. The host/waitress/bartender Carin wore every hat with a smile and the kind of warmth that instantly makes you feel at home. Friendly, funny, informative, and just plain lovely.

So grateful to have stumbled upon this gem. Can’t wait to come back and try the entire menu, one delicious plate...

This place is amazing! The food portions are outrageously huge! Prices are very good for the portion size and quality of the food. I will say the serving in the evening time is far better at her job, knowledgeable, enthusiastic than the day server. My hubby and I went last week around 4pm and this lady is rude, aggresive and doesnt want to be there. I thought maybe it was an off day for her as we all have bad days. Then today I did takeout for a few lunch specials, she once again rude, didn't greet me and then rudely says and how are we paying. I said Visa and she rolls her eyes and walks away. Then after my transaction is approved her back is turned to me ignoring me, I realize she has put my takeout bag on counter and said nothing. So I speak up and said "thanks for the stellar service as always". She is so so so rude. If you want a great first experience or just great experience I highly recommend go after 5pm as this rude server isn't there at that time.
