Sunny Restaurant Inc — Restaurant in Clarington

I had low expectatuons going in, but they didnt even meet that. I have eaten at A LOT of different Chinese and Asian rsstaurants. I am not in the habit of comparing, but at least those other places served fresh food.

I ordered black pepper beef on rice, which includes an eggroll, and a side of sliced bbq pork. The pork was dry, stale, and had zero flavor. That is hard to do with a dish that is supposed to be the complete opposite of all that.

The black pepper beef had old rice and was fluffed up with a bunch of veg. Some of which has no business being in a black pepper dish. There are supposed to be onions and peppers in the dish, not carrots and celery.

Lastly, when ordering you are told that due to inflation and rising costs, you are being tagged with a 10% increase to pricing that is on the menu. Bad business guys. If youre going to or need to increase your prices fine, but get new menus so clients know how much costs actually are.

Quality and service fail. And btw, I worked in restaurants and food industry half my life, so I know when food is stale and old....

Don't eat here! This is the 3rd time I've attempted this restaurant, and EVERY time I've been severely disappointed! The food is NOT fresh! I just spent a little over $14 for literally a tray of fried rice that was likely cooked a day or two ago as it was like little bullets with so much soy sauce added that the rice had turned a deep dark brown, nearing what I'd call black it was so dark. Not to mention the rice ONLY has little pieces of chicken and peas in it, which for me is very boring and a lazy way of making rice! The 'sesame pork' that came with the rice tasted as though it was cooked a number of days ago and thrown in the fryer definitely more than once! It tasted of dirty oil/equipment. Needless to say it went in the green bin. And the restaurant itself has a very stale, musty odor upon entry, which is a huge turn off! I will NEVER go here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone!! Unfortunate, as there isn't much to choose from in Orono, but I'd rather not eat than go here...

Today when we ordered , Dinner for 6 and 2 extra dishes for a fairly large family dinner, we were told 30 minutes to pick it up. We live 10minutes away, so we were disappointed food was cold. The sweet and sour chicken ball was gross the sweet and sour pork was old and dry. we ordered were two of the most disgusting dishes I have ever had. One was a curry chicken which tasted like feet The noodle dishes were cold and not a lot of taste. We've been to sunny restaurant many times before and the food has always been great Would never come back here again. Meal and service was poor using dishwasher gloves handle food items from the window that unsanitary. This is unacceptable adding extra inflation fee of 10% over the 13% you pay for the food. Spend your money elsewhere and get a better meal and service...
