The owner (I believe her name is Carol) is nice and took our order with patience. With the glass barrier, and masks, it is rather difficult to hear what we'd like to order, need to repeat a couple times to make sure we get it right.
It was a sunny Monday and not a lot of people; usually just 1 to 2 people lining up.
Food is on the pricy side, a New York poutine is $6.65 with very very little cheese. The oktoberfest hot dog ($6.2) taste ok. We also got chicken strips with plum sauce ($7.95) and the chicken is pretty dry. The only highlight was the fish and chips ($16.95), it was a big piece of haddock (since halibut was sold out/ shortage) and good amount of fries with tartar sauce. The fish is juicy and the batter is light and crispy.
We were told that this restaurant (once a food truck) was famous for it's fries, but we weren't enjoying the fries at all :(
All the food are packed in card board containers, which should be a better option compare to plastic. Food is still hot/ crispy after a short 7 mins drive to a near by brewery (Side Launch).
Haven't got a chance to sample the ice cream, seem like a lot of people order their ice cream. Will give it a...
Read moreThe lady who served us (blonde hair) is actually quite rude. I saw how she spoke to the customers in front who ordered and she spoke to them as if they were complete idiots. For example, the one guy ordered fries with gravy. She then said, “are you okay with beef gravy?” and he said, “oh, no”, so she goes, “yeah that’s what I thought.. you’ll have to order the vegetarian one”. She just spoke with such sass. I get that people in this area are mostly tourists and might know ESL but you should be prepared for that, be kind and have patience for your consumers. However, with me as well knowing English as a first language, I asked for extra onions and I did not receive a hot dog with extra onions and kindly asked again once given my hot dog. Anyways, my point is to just be kind to...
Read moreWe ordered ice cream cones for 6 young kids. They don’t press the ice cream down on the cone, so the ice cream is ready to fall onto the floor the second the kids start eating it. I politely asked for cups to put the cone in, since they have a sign saying they won’t replace the ice cream if it falls. The much older lady rudely responded with “no, we don’t give out cups, they aren’t free”. I asked her to press the ice cream into the cone instead, and she refused to do that either. Clearly this is an issue they have regularly given that they’ve put up a sign about ice cream falling.
Maybe stop selling poor quality cones and hard as a rock low quality ice cream, and you wouldn’t have this problem. Also, learn some customer service skills and manners.
We...
