I recently visited Royal Bay Bakery expecting a pleasant experience, but it turned out to be the worst I've ever had at a bakery. I asked about the ingredients in some of the pastries since my partner has severe allergies, and shockingly, the staff couldn't provide any information. They claimed they didn't know and couldn’t tell me, which is both alarming and irresponsible for any food establishment, especially an organic bakery where ingredient transparency is typically a priority.
After leaving the bakery, I discovered that one of the items we received was incorrect. I returned to get it switched, only to be met with extreme rudeness from the staff. The lady at the counter insisted that because the original employee who helped me had already left, they couldn't verify my order. She even demanded that I pay the dollar something difference for their mistake, which is unacceptable.
Overall, my experience at Royal Bay Bakery was incredibly disappointing. The lack of knowledge about their own products and the rude customer service make it a place I would not recommend to anyone, especially those with dietary restrictions...
Read moreSince no one seems to want to return my email, I guess I'll post here. I've been going to RBB for years. I used to stop for coffee on my way to work, but after a few (more than disappointing) drinks being served to me I stopped ordering lattes. I typically stop on my way home for the rolls. They come 8 in a bag,l for $5.00 and I always ask for a half bag (as I can't eat 8 in one day, and they aren't great the next day). I stopped last week and asked to have the bag split, and the customer behind me ALSO only wanted 4 buns. Which somes to $3 However, this time, the total came to $6 of 4 buns. When I asked why I was being charged more for half, she said "it's more expensive to do it that way". How possibly??? Instead of making a fuss in the store, I left with my 4 buns. Why is it more now, when it's always been half? Buy less, pay less. Not buy less, pay more. So with that, and getting no response from Management or an Owner, I...
Read moreBottom line is they have very good baked goods from desserts and sweets to lunch items. My partner and I have been heading out that way for several weeks on Saturdays and it has become part of our routine. One week, however, we switched to Sunday only to discover they close on Sundays. Be aware if you go. Here's a couple of other observations. We have never had a problem parking. They do limit the number of people inside at one time but sometimes it feels crowded. The customer space is small. The coffee is good. They have quite a few people on staff so you are attended to quickly and the staff is friendly. They have a small seating area inside and a nice patio outside. The exit door is heavy and hard to open for seniors and small people. We'll miss them this weekend but we stop there each Saturday. They have a good selection of Vegetarian/Vegan items. I highly recommend the vegetable or...
