Without a doubt the worst service experience of my life. We were there Saturday evening. This was our first (and our last) visit there. While we respect the job restaurant servers do and always try to be courteous and friendly, Cynthia made it impossible. She was rude, condescending and indifferent. She would turn her back on us when we were talking, would keep us waiting to order food or drinks, didn’t give us any cutlery to begin with and when we asked for it she seemed upset by the request. We noticed there weren’t a lot of servers around, and thought she might be overwhelmed and tried to address her in a more friendly manner, but the attitude never changed. After waiting for a long time to get a new drink, I tried asking another lady (either a hostess or another waiter) to check on my drink and before I even finished asking she cut me off saying “I’m sorry sir I’m not your server”. I was staring to feel upset by this point, now wondering if that is just the way they serve there. We normally avoid confronting people at restaurants fearing “something” may happen to our food, and decided to talk to a manager on our way out, but by the time we were leaving there was no one around, no manager, no hostess. When we asked at the bar they asked us to wait and never came back. So we decided we had enough of that place and simply left with a very bad taste and a terrible customer service experience, regretting having choosing that place to have a birthday dinner. The food was just ok, nothing impressive or maybe it was the bad service experience we were having. I would not recommend anyone to come to this lounge unless they are looking to waste...
Read moreReserved a table for a birthday party for 20 people weeks in advance, required a $600 credit card hold. Arrived minutes before our reserved time, many in the group arrived in a Limo and lo and behold our table had been given away! The reserved name was even on our table/area still. The acting manager on duty who was referred to as a "supervisor" by his subordinates could only offer an apology with no explanation for the incompetence that had taken place.
If you've ever been to the Asylum you know there's an elevated area for massive gatherings which was the area reserved. The only solution offered were a bunch of high tops pushed together which still wouldn't have accommodated the 20 of us. One of the waitresses who appeared rather inebriated engaged us and actually started using cuss words, certainly the furthest thing from professional.
The insanity at the insane Asylum was far from over though! Some in our group became rather distraught and for good reason, most of us have kids and planning an event for 20 adults is a lot of work! Security was called and "Bill" who was head of security assured he would take good care of us, Well I can assure you not one person was comped a beverage, food or anything for that matter.
We ended up eating in the food court just outside the Asylum.
The insane Asylum and the Soft Rock Casino were a classic reenactment of the Seinfeld episode when Jerry reserves a car yet the car has been given away. the $600 dollar hold still hasn't been removed on the credit card, I will update if...
Read moreI'm giving this a 2 star rating only for the pleasant service we received from our server. Myself and a guest were invited to try the Surf and Turf special at Asylum so I quickly made my reservations for Feb 16 at 6:30pm. The item is on for a limited time for $39.99. I am so glad it was complimentary because it was the worst meal I have had in a very long time. The lobster was dry and hard and obviously wayyyyyy overcooked. The "thermidor" sauce was completely bland and didn't even closely resemble any lobster thermidor I have ever had; I couldn't tell you what it was because it had no flavour. The boneless beef short ribs were tender enough and the peppercorn sauce was ok, but it reminded me of hospital food. The mashed potatoes were decent. The watercress was completely out of place and should have been replaced by some actual vegetables. The whole plate of food was also cool to lukewarm at best. I also ordered stuffed mushroom caps to start and they were very tiny and again, very flavourless. My glass of red wine was the best item we ordered. To compare, I had eaten the Surf and Turf special at Match at Starlight the night before. Theirs was a 6oz sirloin, butter basted lobster tail, roasted potatoes and roasted red peppers and green beans. THAT meal was outstanding and.....$1...
