Skipper Ben's — Restaurant in Cupids

Everyone should experience Skipper Ben's. It is a quaint old home that has been renovated to a point but still maintains the ambience of it's age - 150 years! Our room overlooked the water and we enjoyed the fresh air that wafted through our open window. The bathroom which is shared with the other bedroom was large and fully appointed with plenty of fluffy towels. We had great TV and wifi when we needed it. I can't express enough the hospitality of the owners, Viola and Clive. They go out of their way to make you feel at home in their home. Viola is a wonderful cook and provides a breakfast that you won't forget in her formal dining room complete with candles and cloth napkins. Everything is homemade including the partridge berry jam! We stayed at Skipper Ben's for a week as it is very central to go in many directions on the Avalon Peninsula. Viola and Clive were very helpful about things to see, how to get there and helping us deal with the very changeable NL weather. This BnB would be our top choice if we were ever to return...

Great visit with my spouse and little one (9 months old). Viola was fantastic to accommodate us by providing the ocean view room which allowed us to fit in our play pen for LO's sleeping accommodations. Room was clean and comfy. ||We had dinner and breakfast during our stay. Both meals were expertly prepared and served with lovely grace. We were beyond full at the completion of each meal! Viola is definitely passionate about her BnB and the dining experience which shows in her dedication to ensure you have what you need and are happy! We enjoyed the chowder and cod dinner finished by homemade desserts (chocolate bread pudding and a blueberry crepe filled with ice cream)! Viola also had a high chair for us to use and helped make our LO's stay comfortable. It was great to meet and chat with Viola and her husband. We would definitely be back again if we were in NFLD!
