What a wonderful experience! I dined Al Fresco on the terrace that overlooked the village square. Given that I was dining alone I was happy to take in the sights of village life as people sauntered by as the evening settled in.
My meal started off with a smoked salmon salad that was both delicious and elegantly plated. The delicate sweetness of the maple-blueberry dressing contrasted beautifully with the natural bitterness of the rocket and the smoky saltiness of the salmon.
Next up was the Turbot en Papillote served over a mirepoix of yellow and orange peppers and flavoured with capers, dill, and slightly pickled onions. Alongside the fish was an innovative Turnip risotto over which were strips of purple cabbage. All flavours again were in harmony.
Desert consisted of a wedge of fluffy cheesecake artfully presented on a chocolate graham crumble and topped with fresh berries from a nearby farm. Not too sweet, not too filling; just perfect.
Service was friendly and well-timed, and I very much appreciated that the chef came out of the kitchen to present his dishes.

Won’t be...
