Came to the boiler room with some girlfriends for what we thought was going to be a great dinner unfortunately it was far from that. We waited for an hour for our food to arrive, we watched other Patrons come eat pay and leave before our dinner hit the table and when it did the meals fell very short. The owner at one point came out to rave about how excited she was for the spicy Thai vermicelli bowl that 4 of the 6 of us ordered and that she wanted feed back. The bowl of spaghetti noodles with chopped up chunks of random vegetables was gross. It had zero flavor even after adding two extra sides of dressing . My chicken was old and over cooked, another girls shrimp was teeny tiny and ice cold. I couldn’t even fathom eating it the server was very nice to ask if I wanted something else I declined then she raved how good the Cesar salad was and that it would be quick, so I said ok. It was good but not $23 good , oh not to mention one other girl waited almost 20minutes for her food to come out after we all had been served she was told it would be free and well it wasn’t . Worse part of all is that the server told the owner and asked her to come speak to us so we could address our concerns and she never even came to our table. Terrible customer service there was absolutely nothing done to try and rectify the issue. I could go on about other issues but I won’t. All in all I do not recommend this restaurant food was gross and the customer service ( not the server) was bad . As a group of multiple business owners I understand that times are hard, people are short staffed etc but that is not how you treat customers that come to support your...
Read moreAN UPDATE AND REVISION (October 2025): Got a chance to re-visit this place and it was certainly a MUCH BETTER experience. A go-to for my local friends and this visit was off-season and mid-week so there were only a few people there. Although only one server they were fast and efficient and the kitchen produced a BRISKET SANDWICH was absolutely delicious with some extra crispy fries made to my order. Thanks to all for the much better visit this time !!!! AUGUST 2023: This is an absolutely beautiful venue, a great location, some terrific local and regional beers and one of the BEST orders of fish and chips I have had in North America....served up by the wonderful, exuberant and efficient TARRA (SHOUT OUT!!!!) having to work so well under such DEPLORABLE CONDITIONS!!!! This establishment, like many others in this area, is suffering from a lack of the necessary help needed to run restaurants efficiently. And, SADLY, the MANAGEMENT has over-extended all these resources with a bottom line result of poor customer service and HORRIFICALLY long waits for food. The inside was full on the night I went and the patio where I sat was fairly full. One server for each area and only two kitchen staff where there should have been FOUR resulted in me waiting AN HOUR AND TEN MINUTES for my amazingly delicious fish and chips. The end, however, does NOT justify the means. Proper management should work with the resources they have to keep BOTH the staff and the customers satisfied. The patio should have been shut down and the two servers would have been...
Read moreRecently dined here during a trip to Algonquin. We were looking forward to eating here after seeing the place on our drive by. Very nice looking building and a beautiful patio which was closed due to weather. Inside the restaurant had a cool vibe. Lots of TVs and nice table layouts with a bar. Most tables were full when we arrived. We had reservations. Once seated, it took a bit to have one of two servers visit us. They offer local craft beer which was nice. The one menu item I wanted was unavailable so I chose the BLT with $4 upcharge to sweet potato fries. The food was average. My sandwich/bacon/bun was very cold but the fries were hot. I can't recommend eating here. Obviously there are issues in the kitchen. The two wait staff did a great job but we waited 1.5 hours for our food once ordered. There were three tables ahead of us that were waiting for food. It was painful to watch orders come out one by one with large delays between. I honestly believe there was one person cooking but let's be honest-a well-trained and organized cook could have been able to get the meals out in a reasonable time. The menu was mostly pub food. It was a disappointing experience and we tried to make the best of it but spending our hard earned money at the end of it was tough to swallow. I completely understand staff shortages and the impact it has on food establishments but...maybe don't fill the restaurant up with patrons. Thankfully the...
