Excellent service and food on at the Cottages Restaurant on the terrace overlooking the lake. A group of 5 ladies and we all ordered something different and each meal was spectacular.

The Hydrospa was clean and spotless and the RMT massages were very good. A speical thank you to Anna, the front spa reception staff and the ladies that made the spa glisten with cleanliness. Your attention to a spotless enviroment did not go unnoticed by our group. The behind the scenes efforts are often overlooked. The music selection was excellent , the decor fabulous with a warmth and calming effect. A good tour of the facilites was also provided. Cold water and snacks added a welcoming touch.

The poolside is lovely. I enjoyed the hammock, sauna and pool. I did not enjoy the firepit blowing smoke in what could have been the perfect atmosphere. This is a small area and the smokes overwhelms you. The pit could be placed at the opposite end of the property if management feels it is of importance. Sitting around smoke in the middle of a hot summer day does not add to the relaxing atmosphere that one anticipates. Rather annoying to say the least. Save it for a fall day, if any day at all.

The evening patio musical entertainment was very good. The Chophouse meal was excellent and to perfection once again.

Thank you for accomadating our group of 10 and making it a...

We were staying at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa in Muskoka and for convenience we dined at one of the restaurants located inside the resort called Muskoka Chophouse. The food was very delicious and the service was excellent. I would say it's a bit on the pricier side and is more of a one time treat. I tried their Bison Striploin (medium rare) for the first time and was worried that the meat would have a gamey taste but fortunately, it didn't. The meat is on the leaner side and the waiter advised that all the Bisons were grass-fed. The Bison Striploin was listed on their Special Menu and served with Grilled Asparagus, Potato Gratin and Peppercorn Jus. We also ordered their 12 oz. New York Strip Loin (medium rare) which was both juicy and delicious. We paired the New York Strip Loin with their Chimichurri Sauce. I found it a bit odd that you need to pay for the sauce and sides given the price point. Everything eventually adds up. We were told that the side portions are large enough for sharing so we also ordered Mushroom Fricassée but didn't notice anything special about it. The dining doors were opened during the evening so you can hear people outside near the bar & lounge area as well as live music being played. It wasn't busy when we went on a Saturday evening. It's more of an elevated dining experience if that is...

This restaurant was full of surprises. We were not having great expectations but were really craving for steaks (again). The menu is on the pricier side, but it’s our anniversary celebration so it’s ok, meanwhile thinking “this gotta be good otherwise my wife would be very upset.” We ordered the porterhouse and the mahi mahi. Let’s start with the steak, it’s wet aged so I wasn’t expecting a lot (I am a sucker for dry aged steaks). But that steak was beyond our past experiences with wet aged, it was rich in flavor, charred and done in perfectly rare, even the fat was good. The mahi mahi is wonderful as well, we had this fish in Hawaii and found the meat firm but lacked flavor and a bit rough. But the chef did a wonderful job here, still firm but not rough; the sauce and side vegetables were excellent with the fish. The creme brulee was surprise compliment for us as we are celebrating. Not too sweet, the taste of egg is present and the raspberry sorbet on it was so good my sons fought for it. This restaurant instantly became one of our favorite in Muskoka, and...
