PM Lounge — Restaurant in Edmonton

This place has to have bought their 4.4 rating. I had so many issues when I ate here.

First off, the waitress took a long time to get to my table. Second, she asked what I wanted to order without giving me a menu. So she goes away and does whatever for a while and forgets about us.

So after a while, the person I'm with; they go to the bar and grab a couple of menues because they are tired of waiting. Then, after another bit of waiting, the waitress finally comes back and asks us what we want.

The person I'm with asks about the chicken fingers, and he also asks if they come with fries. The waitress replies with a no. So he automatically says no thanks... A reastuant should include fries with this kind of thing it's common sense in Canada. Ex - I'm not ordering fish and chips and then paying extra for the fries.

This isn't even the worst part.

Ok, so I'm hungry, and I don't care about the stuff I just mentioned because I see one of my favorite burgers on the menu...

The bacon cheese burger. So I order it right away after the person I'm with decides not to order.

So we wait a long time, maybe 30 minutes, and the waitresses comes by and gives me my bill..............

I haven't even got my food yet. Ok, im native and I'm in a bad neighborhood. I'm embarrassed. This has literally never happened to me in my life. Racist waitress is all I'm thinking. There is no excuse to do this. It's rude.

Then, a short time later, she hands me my burger and fries that I ordered. I didn't even have one bite of my burger, and the waitress came around a 2nd time after dropping off my burger. This time, she asked me to pay for the burger. She looked really weird and angry. I just thought she looked at me in a racist way. I hated it. I don't care if she's tired or sick or whatever, don't come to work if you look like a devil. You're in customer service. You're paid to please me, (serve me my food) not look at me like I'm a scum bag.

This has never ever happened to me in my life at a restaurant. Like... im 30 years old and ate at hundreds of restaurants, and this is the first time this has ever happened. I'm offended, but I just paid for it and didn't argue. No tip. I'm not tipping garbage service and mediocre food.

Finally, the complaints about the food. The fries sucked. I hate them nasty fries coated with whatever the hell it is. Every little mom and pop restaurant seems to serve them. They are gross. They must be the cheapest fries you can buy at costco, in bulk; because every restaurant in Edmonton seems to cook them. This is just my opinion, I know some people might like these fries.

Lastly, the burger was decent. It was a 6 out of 10. Nothing special, but it was fair with the price. The only complaint I have is the cold, nearly frozen tomatoe in the burger. I hate, real cold tomatoe in my burger. Literally made me hate the burger. I took them ice cube tomatoes out of the burger to salvage some enjoyment out of the mediocre burger.

It's just a horrible, horrible experience. I would never have come here if I was going to get such bad service and mediocre food.

McDonalds would have been a better choice than eating here, I'm never coming back. Brados is better, Queen donair is better, 02s is better. So many better options in close proximity of this place. I would have rated negative stars...

Would recommend only on a night when Rani is there. I think. Have not met him. Here is what happened.

We sat tonight at the bar. My brother loves Karaoke and I love to dance. I always drag him out to dance so tonight I offered to go to karaoke instead. I showed him the reviews for this place excepting it to be welcoming and hoping to meet Rani. I came to find Rani, the manager was away. As a result it was a sad night. The bartender was great but the waitresses would look away from me everytime I tried to make eye contact. I assume this was because I was at the bar, but honestly now I think it was systemic racism in an Albertan bar with traditionally white clientele. I guess they don’t get a lot of Sri Lankans. The server even turned away from me when I was trying to order a drink for someone celebrating a birthday (a friend of the DJ that wanted muffdivers). The overall mood was sad and angry in the place except for a few regulars. I got the feeling people were on edge tonight and I hope the only conclusion is that Rani is required for a good time. Maybe when Rani is there the servers are nicer to customers and less stressed and the overall atmosphere is fun. Maybe the waitresses were just stressed tonight because the DJ wasn’t super friendly to me either. Again I’m a different skin colour than most of the people in these reviews anyways. I would not recommend going on a night when Rani is not there. Might be a great...

If I could give this place six stars, I would! Walked in expecting a good meal, walked out wondering if I had just found my new second home. The menu? Packed with so many amazing choices that I seriously considered asking for a blanket and moving in. I started with the burger, and let me tell you—it wasn’t just a burger, it was THE burger. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked… I may or may not have shed a tear of joy.

Now, let’s talk about Mercedes, the waitress who made this experience even better. She was an absolute rockstar—friendly, funny, and somehow always there right when I needed a refill. If the food wasn’t already a reason to come back, Mercedes alone would be!

I’m officially declaring this my new watering hole, my go-to spot, my culinary playground. And since I’ve committed to trying everything on the menu, I guess I’ll be seeing a lot more of this place. See you soon!

“I had another great time at PM Lounge! The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the service is top-notch. I ordered the PM pizza, which was like a perfect mix of deluxe and Hawaiian—absolutely delicious!
