I have visit this location 5 times in the last 2 weeks. I love the fact they have a wonderful selection of cups. So 5 out 5 I have purchased a mug or cup. Today was not the exception I purchased two! This store has never been the warmest, you are not greeted, you don't hear at thank you from them and honestly I do not really care about; however, I do care about the way you treat me while I am being a customer. This morning at 6:40 am, I grabbed two cold cups one from the sale section and one from the regular price. I went to the barista and I mean its 6:40, they just open and you can tell the girl, her name was Catherine, was already in a bad mood or she just for some reason decided that it was a good day to tell me with a tone and with judgy eyes: â you are aware that this cup is full price correct, you have to pay full priceâ I was really surprise instead of greeting me she assumed I cannot afford it. First, she asked aggressively, second, I never asked the price, third I did not look like I could not afford it. She make in her a reasoning base on what my race, my gender, or my social status, that I am an immigrant. I decided to be the adult and I said I am totally aware and proceed to order my breakfast, I wanted 3 item, well she make me repeat myself three times as she pretended that she could not understand my english. I spent in total 89 dollars, and I purchased 5 items. My hands were full already as I had my wallet, my sunglasses, and my phone. She never offered a bad to purchase. So she throw my items and I said could I please have a bag and she rolled her eyes like I was asking for the las bag in the world, and said you need to pay for this bags are u aware? Again I never asked for free things I paid for my items. So, I decided to just not reply. She looks at me and acted like she was doing me a favour and say I will give it to you however next time you pay and ask at the moment of purchasing, like wth is wrong with her! I never said I could not afford a bag. I had coins, and she gave me her back. I was really irritated when the barista in charge of the drink just put the drink in table it was half empty and cold. The mainly reason I am annoyed is because when I came to Canada, Starbucks was really nice to give me a job as a barista, 15 years ago, I know how baristas are trained as I became the trainer for more than 30 people at my store, I joined the manning store we open this store, we were told that we need to be nice to everyone no matter what as an audit can happen and just because that is expected from you being at the job. I know all the people who are in charge of this stores and this reflect so bad in the manager in charge of this store and...
Read moreIf I pay 9$ a drink I expect to not be treated rudely, I could get a starter to eat somewhere for this price. Honestly this is the worst starbucks. And I used to work at Starbucks for 5 years I understand what these workers go through and how the drinks are made. I used to love it here, but they hired a lot of new staff recently. I got a drink made incorrectly today and I came back and just asked for a refund, and the person who answered got very upset and said âwell your gunna have to wait your turnâ kind of aggressively and I said well ya itâs a drive through? Of course Iâm gunna wait my turn. They then said âwell we arnt going to argue today you need to chillâ and added a âmaâamâ at the end. I just didnât say anything and drove ahead to greet their manager (Rosie odonnel) with her arms crossed (tryna scrap me basically, I had to laugh). I politely explained about my drink. The manager immediately argued and said âwell I can tell by looking at this drink it was made correctly but here you goâ gave me the refund, no apology. This is probably #5 time they made the drink wrong over a period of 2 weeks. For the price you pay for the drinks, I can promise you itâs worth it to make the trip 4 minutes down the road to Victoria trail Starbucks that just opened. Iâve been there 9 times and they havnt made a drink wrong yet and they are so nice. The older gentleman who is also a manager has also been rude in the past, 7 months ago when they had the nitro cold brew I accidentally called it nitrous? Cold brew. And he scoffed at me at the window and said nitrous is what they use at the dentist, itâs actually nitro. (He said it in a mean snobby way for context). And my boyfriend said he also gives him major attitude on...
Read moreEarlier this evening I stopped in to this location for the first and last time. The cafe drive through was empty, and the cafĂ© space was quiet. I had expectations of service akin to what Iâd been trained for when Iâd worked for Starbucks. Unfortunately I left heavily disappointed.
I was with my mom, trying to order our lattes with some accommodation for hers, as she will get terrible headaches with too much espresso. Normally sheâll ask for some of the espresso due to her drink on the side so she can adjust the proportions to a drink she can comfortably drink, with enough flavour to still enjoy. We explained this to the barista taking our order (no name tag); she was adamant she could offer no flexibility within the system. If she did anything like what were asking for it would visible on camera and therefore theyâd get in trouble for not charging it as a second drink. We tried to find an alternative way to accommodate within this, perhaps they could be the ones pouring in a little more espresso as needed from the shots already destined for this cup? The rest could go down the drain. After five or so minutes at the till (no line thankfully) she went to have a sidebar meeting with a coworker. A continued âNoâ.
I work in a retail, food service environment everyday that developed, in part, as a result of my time (first job) at Starbucks. Their lack of understanding or willingness, here, to consider a potential solution to accommodate a medically related request...
