Queen Donair — Restaurant in Edmonton

My Family and I loved this place for years and the food was always amazing however I used skip the dishes last night and it has been a nightmare ! I order from the app and i waited 90 mins for my food the fries were cold and the salad was soggy. The donair was cold and the meat was hard and could not eat . i paid out 30 in total the order was 27 and that included a 3.50 tip to the driver when I said to the driver after checking my food that it was cold etc ...I asked him if he had been driving around for 90mins with my food in his car. Well when he came to my door he spoke English just fine and said he had been trying to call me etc why I dont know. The minute I asked him about my food he goes I don't speak english ! REALLY ! I am not dumb and members of my family are business owners as well the drivers from the app Skip The Dishes have to speak English to work for the company ffs people are not dumb. I should have just told the driver to take the food and leave . I gave him a twenty and 2 fives he said I don't have change after telling me he doesnt speak english lol. i just did the same as him and looked at him like I dont speak english then he pulls out his change wallet and hands me a loonie and leaves. Not only am I out the money of 29 dollars I could not eat the food. I called skip the dishes and all they said was its the donairs stores fault they dont make the food etc blaming the donair shop. I called the donair shop they blamed it on the driver being 15 mins late. Since these two are in business together I will be leaving the same on both sites. I will not be giving either my money or business till my order is fully replaced or the money I am out is giving back to me. 7 dollars is not an acceptable solution when a customer is out 29 dollars. Queens donair offered me a free donair not worth my time. Still...

This used to be the best place for a donair, I have been coming here for years, sadly this is not the case any more. The food was ok, would have possibly been better if they didn’t drown the onion rings in seasoning to the point of not being edible, two super donairs paid for extra sauce extra cheese on one of them. Watching the cook( older, short, skinny, grumpy looking guy) putting it together wrong, I confirmed that was ours after noticing he never put the extra cheese/sauce on. Boy I never seen someone more pissed about having to fix a mistake, still refused to do it right only put the extra cheese on, never spoke to me only to the much nicer younger guy running the till in his language with harsh under tones, I can only imagine what was said never the less the nice kid just gave up trying to correct him to fix it and I settled for the extra sauce on the side, witch of course I ended paying for not getting any cheese at all on the second super donair and deciding it just wasn’t worth my time or frustration to get it done right. It truly saddens me how down hill this place has gone, they used to care about their customers and the food...

Y’all, if you are looking for a reliable google review, i guarantee you it’s this one. i don’t know why this donair place doesn’t have a 5 star review anyway, although here is my personal experience. This place is why donairs are my favourite food , as well as my favourite donair place to get my donairs. They know their customers very well and they are very kind to everyone they meet. As soon as i got in , he greeted me and asked if i wanted my regular. i said yes of course :) and he started preparing it right away. another customer comes in, he greets him , and he asks if he wants his regular ! Anyway, then when it is time to pay, i only have my phone , and i was hoping to pay with Apple Pay. they didn’t have tap and i didn’t have any. other form of paying. i told them i would come back later to get it and pay, and they insisted that i take the donair home. Very. Kind. Gentlemen. I of course will be back to pay tomorrow but goes to show you how well they treat their customers ! (also the donairs are to die for 10/10...
