Kapps Pizza Place — Restaurant in Elkford

HORRIBLE SERVICE, FOOD MEDIOCRE

I am shocked at how bad the Service at this restaurant is. My five year old and I visited this establishment on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a pizza at the counter, and were told it would be 45 minutes. It was 2 pm and there was only two small groups in the dining area and they already had their food. There was 4 or more staff behind counter in kitchen area and did not look busy. We let them know we would go for a walk and return to dine in after a short while.

We returned after about 20 minutes and proceeded to have a seat. The server came out with our pizza and dropped the pan on the table and gave us one plate. She asked if we wanted any drinks , I asked for water to start. She came back with one glass and left. We were not given a second plate or additional glass of water. There was no cutlery provided, no napkins given and no condiments such as salt and pepper or parmesan shakers. There was also no serving spatula on the pizza tray. The group of customers in the table in front of us had all the things that they never gave us, with their pizza order. The pizza was over-cooked to the point that over half was burnt, and the toppings were so scarce. The Server never once checked back with us to see if we needed anything. I went to counter to pay and asked for a take out box for the leftovers, and was handed a small Styrofoam container, not even a pizza box! The debit/point of sale machine would not let me leave a zero tip, and would not let me move forward unless I entered a tip amount. The prices for their food were quite high as well.

This is hands down the worst experience I have ever had at a dining establishment. I would not recommend Kapps Pizza to anyone. I will not be back here again! The site has no options for zero stars or I would have picked that. (note: the date of our visit was...

I’m a cycle tourist and I just had breakfast here this morning. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I found the temperature of the dining area too hot. I was on the threshold of sweating. This was on a very cold morning so it was related to the setpoint of the heating system, not air conditioning. I had the two eggs with sausage and hash browns and toast. All the food was excellent. The portion size was very large. It was appropriate for a cyclist or a hard working man. They didn’t offer decaf coffee. I think they should offer at least instant decaf for those of us who like the taste of coffee but don’t want a caffeine addiction. I try hard not to eat refined sugars or honey. We showed up with a large group of people. The staff was fantastic but the owner leaves much to be desired. The staff was a bit flustered when we showed up because of the size. The owner was on the phone and wanted to talk to me. He continued to be rude to me and his staff on the phone. A big shout out to his staff. They handled the group with calm and a professional attitude. The food came out as timely as possible and was great. We were in no hurry and still left in under two hours.
