This was some of the best if not THE best Indian food I've ever had. No hyperbole. I mean it. Crazy that it's right outside Bancroft! Clearly made with love, none of it was greasy, portion sizes were generous and the cuts of meat used were good (you know how sometimes you get goat and it's nothing but bone? Not the case here). You can tell the difference in quality coming from this family owned restaurant to Indian food even in big city establishments. Spicy without being hot (unless you want it like that) we tried many different dishes on the menu. Between my father, my wife and myself we couldn't get enough of the flavours. From mango shrimp to garlic nan! The goat curry is phenomenal. Just wow. Absolutely blown away. They'll even give you red and green chili's to throw into your food if you want it even spicier. I live two hours away but I've been thinking about the meal we had for the past few days. This sounds like a weird compliment, but again, speaking to the extremely high quality of the food and how delicious it was, I rode my motorcycle back home for two hours and not once the whole night did I get a telltale gurgling in the belly. Really! Do yourself the favour and go eat here! It's worth it!

Decent Experience but.... I recently visited the Curry House and while the food was good for the area, it didn't quite meet my expectations compared to other places I've tried. Our order consisted of Dal Makhani and Chicken Korma. The Chicken Korma was very good and savory, but the Dal Makhani seemed undercooked, felt the lentils could have been softer. Note: mains come with rice which is a nice touch. Additionally, the samosas were dry inside and the dough was heavy. The garlic naan was a bit flat and lacked the pillowy texture, suggesting it might not have been cooked in a traditional tandoor. We also weren't asked for our preferred spice level, and both dishes seemed to have the same level of spiciness. Overall, it was an okay dining experience, but there's room for improvement. Saying all this, I'd come back to try something else.

Food arrived fast. Portion sizes are pretty sad, but I also eat alot. Glad I came for lunch and not dinner, or id be going to McDonald's after. I ordered butter chicken, butter naan, and gulab jamun for dessert. With a 15% tip, it was 40$. The butter chicken seemed very westernized and sweet, but still very good. The naan was meh. Better than what you warm up at home, but definately sub par. Gulab jamun always good and is hard to mess up, just pull it out the jar. $7.50 for 3 pieces is pretty wild considering you can buy a kg at the store for less but... dont order it if you think its too much.

Waiter was friendly.

Bathrooms were questionable. Defiantley haven't been deep cleaned in a long time, just the standardized routine maintenance.

Overall for the price point, I have had much better. I would still come back occasionally to try some other dishes or maybe the buffet if it ever comes back. I would also ask for an authentic option without the added sugar if one does exist the next time i order their butter chicken. I could also be naive to this flavour profile. Perhaps from a region where it is in...

We had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. We finally stopped in for dinner today. Since it was our first visit, we chose the appetizer platter, so we could sample a variety. The menu described the platter as one of each of the nine appetizers on their menu. When it arrived, there were 7 items (not9) and two were stone cold. Unfortunately there was only one person running the restaurant today... cooking, cleaning, serving (& coughing) so we couldn't get his attention to point out the shortcomings. Perhaps it was just an off day, but the lack of service, substandard quality of food preparation, and the pesky flies we had to keep shooing away from our food, left us disappointed and unwilling to order an entree, much less return another day. Upon leaving, we looked for a restaurant scorecard to reassure ourselves that we didn't need to be concerned about the food safety, but didn't see one posted anywhere. Sadly, this has soured us on not just this restaurant, but their other Bancroft...
