The restaurant is located in the Victoria Inn hotel. Once entering you turn right up the steps and will follow the hallway to the restaurant. If you’re not local it would be easy to get turned around and head in the wrong direction.
It’s a wait to be seated sort of place. It’s clean in appearance and has a fancier look and feel than the other restaurants in town, but it’s nothing comparative to larger city restaurants.
I had the buffalo chicken wrap with a side poutine. The poutine was the best part. The fries were well done and had a really great flavour and crisp level. The only thing that would make it better was real curds but I am not disappointed in the slightest.
The wrap was disappointing. It was too spicy for my personal tastes and I had a hard time eating it due to this. They put chips in it which is interesting. Another thing to note is there was a very small amount of chicken in the wrap, it was mainly just filler.
The spinach dip we all shared was decent, but nothing to write home about.
Service was ok- it was kind of slow and took a long time to get orders in, our items & just in general didn’t feel like we saw the server much.
When done you’ll pay at the hostess desk where you first waited to be seated.
If I return here I will try something different. I definitely...
Read moreCame here with a family of 6. 3 of us has gluten-free/dairy-free concerns. The server was very accommodating in that regard and went as far as custom billing our food to make sure it was fair. I myself never ate, but I had the coffee. Or rather, 2 sips. It was probably top 5 WORST coffee's i've ever drank in my 20+ years of drinking coffee. The server, albeit quite frank, did take the coffee back and remove it from the bill. Others complained of dressing inside their wrap being heavy on one side, missing from the other. Steak was only cooked on one half, leaving the other side raw and dangly. The restroom was not stocked/fully functional. Taps and dispensers were empty/broken. But, it gave enough respite for my family to have a quick bite and continue with our day. Chairs/tables were clean and spacious and were set in a manner where we could view the pool, which was a nice touch. Obviously some money was spent here in this building/venue, but there has been little to no 'love' put into it. Kind of a "things will get done when i get to it" attiude. No rush, no pride, no quality control, etc.

Read moreI had dinner here because on Monday evening it seemed to be the only place open.
First off, service was great! Staff were prompt and friendly and it’s always nice to feel welcomed after a long road trip.
I had the spicy chicken penne daily special which I guess the chicken was ground so it wasn’t pieces of chicken breast. I love spicy but there wasn’t much else flavour. Slightly over sauced and like I said the meat was ground up you couldn’t really tell it was there.
They were out of a couple other entrees i would have preferred like ribs
I didn’t feel great after, not saying I was ill or anything but I chose not to finish my leftovers the next day.
The pint of draught moosehead (one of my favourite beers) I had was excellent. So fresh, I rarely get to enjoy such a crisp flavourful pint.
Also when I came back to check out the bar downstairs around 10 they were already closed even though the sign out front advertised its open til 11
Overall a decent choice but there are better restaurants in town, just not on...
