ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! I do not leave bad reviews very often, especially with small/local businesses, but we were SO disappointed and would not recommend to anyone! Was not worth the $42 for 2 people what so ever!
Very under staffed. We waiting over 5 minutes to be seated while no one even greeted us or said anything.
It took about 30-45 minutes for our order to be taken. Other people in the restaurant got up and walked out before they even got any water on their table. One lady waiting to be seated asked if there was a long wait time, and the waitress simply said yes, and said if you don't want to wait, that is your choice in a rude voice. She did not seem like she wanted to be there whatsoever and didn't even try to hide it.
The Lemonade I ordered tasted like water with MIO!
We ordered a "Massive" Poutine, which was a joke! It had maybe a handful and a half of frozen fries with clumpy gravy and shredded mozzarella cheese for $8!! NOT WORTH IT!
The waitress (who was the only one working for about an hour we were there) was rude and rushed and didn't ask how any of our meals were (no wonder, she probably knew what our answers would be).
The food was terrible, my turkey was COLD! Gravy was clumpy again (only hot thing on my plate). The veggies were all frozen and tasted like they were boiled in mud water. The stuffing was absolutely disgusting, I couldn't even finish it, it made me gag! Nothing was homemade or fresh.
Overall, terrible service, horrible customer service, over priced for the quality and portion sizes and unbelievably unprofessional customer service. Wont be back and will not...
Read moreDisclaimer: we went here for desserts only (and coffee). We came upon this place because my wife needed some nice dessert and since we were in the middle of a place I have never been to before we went exploring for a nice diner. The owner was so nice, she went into the kitchen to check what desserts they had available and brought some out for us to take a look at. We ended up ordering the coconut cream pie and the carrot cake. Let me tell you there is nothing like freshly prepared pies and cakes. The carrot cake was moist and had that homemade taste and texture that you don't get anymore, with recipes that probably dated back to when the owner (who makes all the food from scratch for over 50 years in this establishment!) had just opened this place. The coconut cream pie is so unique, with a baked cream layer on top and a custard layer on the bottom and a flaky crust (and just the right amount of sweetness). Heaven! Places like these are getting harder to find but people don't realise that these places built Halifax and have fed generations of people. I don't see them as being dated, I see them as experience purveyors of food and not the garbage flowing out of the fast food industry. Give me a nice diner over a McDonalds any day of the week. Don't listen to the negative comments of this place their opinions are mired in bias and not the food. Very clean restaurant and very nice service we will be back again to try their huge selection...
Read moreUpdate Oct 10-2024 Was visiting here as I now live in new Glasgow but always loved this place. Came here regularly when I lived here. Today I had the special which was liver and bacon. Perfectly done and presented. I’m glad they still are existing. So many changes , nice to see some things don’t.
I am fairly new to Windsor and as a senior and a widow I found this place close and homemade and priced for me. The service is always the best and they serve breakfast all day. Today I came in and the waitress was super friendly and accommodated me with my requests as I am super fussy. I love coming here and when I have company I always take them here. October 08 2023 I was picking up an order for someone and went online to get phone number and price. Was totally shocked when I got the order as it was a lot more. When questioned she said that’s the price. One piece fish and chips 12.49 where as the online price was 8.89. Would be good to update when...
