Best view for a quick ice cream! I’ve been coming here for years the food is great and so is the atmosphere lots of flavours for the ice cream and it’s a little bit out of town so parking is good.

Les poutines sont excellentes. J’ai goûté la poulet bacon, que je recommande fortement. La sauce maison est incroyable et ajoute un petit goût sucré à la poutine. Les sundaes sont vraiment délicieux également, avec une quantité généreuse de coulis, tout ce qu’on attend d’un bon sundae. Les glaces molles sont géniales et très généreuses en quantité. La terrace extérieur offre une magnifique vue. Le seul point négatif que j’ai relevé est que leurs slushs (granitas) ne sont vraiment pas bonnes. Je ne recommande donc pas les slushs.

One of the best places for pizza and poutine in town!

I came back to Gaspe after living in the US for many years. The Banquise used to be "that ice cream place across the road" when I went to high school. Things have changed.

They've become the place for pizza in town, over Mastro's and even the once-revered Dixie Lee. So the locals told me!

The waiting time is extremely long, more than 30 minutes. We ordered 2 lobster rolls. The rolls themselves were lackluster ; they essentially threw in lettuce and lobster, no sauce or seasoning whatsoever. Very disappointing, as we had been told by a local that they had the best lobster rolls. The sundae and milkshake were good. Not a fun place to be ; it was small, cramped, a buzzer opens the door... Excellent pizza and decent prices for the region. Staff is awesome and always friendly. Large parking lot with a great view of the river. Ice cream is the best in the region by far... Especially dipped in the Belgian chocolate... Nice thick shell... Not the thin watery stuff...
