Overpriced and pizza mostly dough with little topping. For the price you pay for w pizza I am suprised they charged me almost 4$ for a tiny little container of hot sauce when. I don't understand customer service these days. Every little thing has an extraordinary cost to it and nothing free. Gone are they days you could just add whatever condiment you want for free.
I also am reading the responses from owner to be very JUDGEMENTAL based on what the customer ordered. One lady found pizza was not cooked and owner told her she ordered toppings that weren't good for her stomach. Etc. Passive aggressive much!???
This place sucks.
Edit from owners response: Don't have RECEIPTS but picked up pizza to go, paid over 50$ and I know for sure that a little hot sauce should be complimentary!
Yes you're responses are thoughtful and somewhat helpful or respectful and a little sassy and judgemental at the same time. Not aggressive no you're right.
People do not need lectures on the economy or the price of fries at Costco. Or how 2 pizzas should feed 8 to 10 people. It's really none of your business. And if they order pineapple and mushroom but felt that the dough wasn't cooked right. Not up for you to tell them that those ingredients aren't good for their tummy.
From ChatGPT : 🔥 Short Answer:
Yes, it can come off as rude or judgmental if not said carefully. The tone, timing, and wording are everything.
💡 Here’s Why It’s Tricky:
If a customer complains about the pizza being "doughy" or undercooked, and you respond with “Well, maybe the toppings you picked aren’t good for your stomach,” it can sound like you’re blaming them for their own complaint. That almost always triggers defensiveness.
It implies they made a bad choice, or worse, that their digestive issues are their own fault.
💬 Better Approach (Without Sounding Judgy):
Instead of focusing on what’s wrong with their toppings, focus on solutions or gentle education. Here's a tactful, friendly way to say it:
“I'm really sorry to hear that you weren’t happy with the pizza! Sometimes, certain toppings—like heavy meats or extra cheese—can make the dough feel a bit heavier or affect how it cooks. We’re happy to tweak the recipe or suggest something that’s lighter next time if you’re open to it!”
That’s: ✅ Helpful ✅ Respectful ✅ Non-judgmental ✅ Opens the door for future improvement
🌟 Bonus: Make Them Feel Smart
If you really want to level it up, try adding a positive spin:
“A lot of our regulars found that a lighter topping combo actually crisps up the base better. If you ever want to try that, just let us know—we’ve got some combos...
Read moreWe live in Hull (just south of the Plateau) and there are a lot of locations to choose from.
Familiar and tired with all the franchise places. I decided to try Pizza Cafe Tache one day (honestly with low expectations) since the location is conviently located on Tache/Saint Raymond on my way home coming across the Island park bridge.
To my pleasent surprise... this is now my go to place for Pizza!! The first time we found it weird with sesame seed on the crust.
But now it is weird NOT having it. Their garlic dip works with the pizza too.
The owners are super nice guys and try to accommodate everyone. Making you feel welcome.
I've read a bunch of the not so pleasent reviews and they are brutal.
Eg. How can someone give a negative comment when their pipes burst in the winter flooding the place and forcing them to close.
Give me a break!!
Another slamming them for not being served in french?? Really?? A joke as well.. I've heard and seen them communicate great with English, French, German, Turkish customers.
Anyhow.. ignore these comments and reviews and try for yourself.
You might be surprised.
On another note.. I've seen customers drop off baby gifts out of the blue (not even eating at the time)
I saw them drop off pizza for free during the floods (rain of 2017)
They're nice people.. but you don't know that Reading this stuff online. Only when you meet them in person.
Anyhow.. take my feedback for what it is. Just saying it how I...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing, unique pizza!! Honestly pizza like no other!! Fantastic customer service. Been ordering from here for over 2 years, usually at least twice a month, and I’ve never had a bad experience, amazing pizza always! Seriously, don’t get me wrong I’ve had fantastic pizza elsewhere, however this pizza is just different. I’ve never had another pizza like it! It has sesame seeds on the crust, with a fantastic complimentary garlic dip which compliments the crust perfectly (at least in the large pizza’s, never ordered smaller as we have a bigger family.) Actually, I do have to mention I did have ONE “off” experience, but I only mention it for a positive reason. We ordered one night when the dough was very freshly made, and it created a “cheese bubble” which inevitably didn’t cook the pizza properly. However as soon as I called.. they promptly offered to replace it, then gave us complimentary baklava for the inconvenience, which was also unexpected, and fantastic! Since then we’ve ordered the baklava a few times because it was so yummy! And we are HUGE baklava fans in our household, so that’s saying something. Great service, top notch ‘za. Currently live in Gatineau, but will drive to pick this up once we’re no longer residing in the area, and have recommended it to many friends & family. Never a bad experience. Food quality is great, price matches the quality and ethics make all the difference. Cannot say enough good....
