This turned out to be a disappointed lunch to support a local business. On our drive to a funeral in Luksville, we noticed the charm little restaurant from the main road. I had suggested to the family this location for lunch since we were only a 15 minutes drive away. We all agreed. We arrived at 11:30 a.m. We showed up and was greeted by our waitress. Six members was in our party. The waitress recommended that next time, that a group larger than 4 members, a reservation is required. The restaurant was only 1/4 - 1/3 full with customers at this time. How are we to know, since this was our first time here. The decor inside was quite outdated, something from the late 70's / early 80's. No negative comment about the waitress, as she was great. I had asked her what was the restaurant specialty. She said we are known for our breakfast and poutines. Some members of our group wanted breakfast, while others wanted lunch. Breakfast was still available at that time which was great! One member wanted to order a pizza, to which the waitress replied pizzas are not available at this time. He settled for a club. I also wanted a pizza so switch my selection to the 'house lasagna'. I'm instructed the 'house lasagna' is also not available at this time. I inquired about the other lasagna on the menu to which the received reply was none of the listed pastas on the menu are available at this time. Not a great start! I settled on the mushroom cheese burger and fries. As we our waiting on our food order, we start noticing several flies around our table. I kept finger flicking or squashing flies around us before and during our served meal. Successful count: 5 flies. My biggest concern was if there's that many flies flying around in the dinning area, how many are actually flying in the kitchen landing on the food and clean plates. The meal was served in a reasonable amount of time and was good and hot. Another recommendation to the owner would be to stock up hand towels as their was no paper towels in the hand dispenser. The men's single washroom was clean. On our way out, we noticed there was a brick at the bottom of the side door assuming to keep the air circulating inside. We now know why the restaurant had so many flies. Would I return for another meal or suggest this restaurant to someone else; unlikely not. This restaurant could become a little gem if management or ownership made the right changes in the...

Read moreI usually avoid leaving negative comments unless things are really off, but this place failed on all levels. We arrived around lunchtime mid-week, with the restaurant at about 20% occupancy. Our group of eight ordered 3-4 pizzas and 4 salads. I personally ordered a “chef” salad, a small pizza with ham and olives toppings, and a Coke with ice. The Coke arrived without ice, and the waitress informed me they had run out. I was okay with that, expecting the food to arrive promptly. However, after almost an hour of waiting, we inquired about our order and were told that the single chef was bottlenecked due to our group size. When my “chef” salad finally arrived, it consisted only of cucumbers, tomatoes, and lettuce (see photo)—missing the typical components of meat and cheese. The pizza came with ham but no olives (see photo), and by then, the Coke was lukewarm. I mentioned to the waitress that the Coke was warm and should have been served with the pizza. Instead of apologizing and promptly bringing a cold Coke, she explained their staffing issues. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the delays and poor handling of the situation. Eventually, she brought a can of Coke without a glass, long after I had finished my meal. Finally, when the “boss” brought the check, I requested that no tip be added. Instead of addressing my concerns, he simply stated that he didn’t need a tip. Overall, the service was horrible, the food was disappointing, and the entire experience was frustrating. An experience to...
