Resto Bar Le BUCKingham — Restaurant in Gatineau

I have been coming here for years. As it happens, during the 2017 floods, this is where I HAD to eat for about 7 months. The service back then was top notch. We could not believe how lucky we were. How surprised were we when we went back because the 2022 storm deprived us of electricity for over 5 days! We sat at our table and waited, and waited for someone to come great us. Finally, someone did! It was about 11:30. They brought us a lunch menu. We politely asked : Do you still serve breakfast? No yes, it would be our pleasure... Just; it costs 2$ more. Do you still want it? Of course, I say absolutely! We both order. Me.. 2 eggs over easy, white toast with a side of French Toast. My hubby orders 2 eggs over easy with sausage. Meal comes... 1 egg each. When I mention we are supposed to have 2 eggs each, well, server says fine. We did eventually get our second eggs but I can't help wondering... Where are the wonderful people who were so concerned for the flood victims. They we're truly our heroes. We will forever remember your empathy and genuine concern for us. Please, hire people who truly want to serve your customers. Maybe then, I will be able to justify paying over 30$ for a few eggs, 3 slices of bacon, 3 sausages, about the equivalent of 3 potatoes, 5 slices of bread and...really bad service. Sad to see where lack of personnel has brought us. I wish this business well but need to say... Your employee's and the service they offer, the survival of your business. Sad hearted, I truly wish...

After sitting down at a small table, a booth became available, so we asked a lady staff passing by if we could move. She was not happy and even said out loud to whoever wanted to hear while walking to the booth that she was really fed up with clients changing tables. After we moved, she came back to put utensils. Instead off calling her on her comments, we said thank you for letting us move. She seemed embarrassed by her action but never apologized for her loud comments in from of others. Then came our waitress and other staff to serve us and they were absolutely kind, funny, attentive and great! Maybe the first one was having a bad day! The place has a bar and a restaurant. This local watering hole is getting more and more popular because of the bands they’ve been booking lately. I was there on Thursday evening to see Travelling South, a local southern rock band. Their set started at 6:30 so I decided to grab a bite. It was so crowded I thought my food would take forever to arrive, but it was lightning fast! I bit into my chicken club wrap and I was surprised that the sandwich was served ice cold and with the driest, overcooked chicken I have had in recent times. It’s a good thing I had a Sunbrew to wash it down. The wait staff was amazing and kind.
