My wife and I had a wonderful breakfast at Sweetwater this morning. Living in the Owen Sound area for some time now we’ve been trying to find new places to check out. We were both pleasantly surprised by not only the food, but the staff! Our server Donna was absolutely wonderful and gave some great recommendations, as well as accurately accommodated some of the diet restrictions in our orders. It was also a pleasure to have Chef Tim come to the table and check in. Now, onto the food. My wife and I both ordered the eggs Benedict and I’m happy to say that it is easily one of the best in the area! We ended the meal with a couple donuts, and they might’ve been the best part. I highly recommend them. We’re already planning our night out there for Valentine’s Day.

A somewhat hidden gem. Its actually the clubhouse of the golf club so seems to not really advertise itself. We (as foreign tourisrs driving the Georgian Bay area) only found it by seeing it on Google maps as the only place for miles. As you see from my photos, the location and vista is simple stunning. Add to that good food, well presented, and typically Canadian warm and friendly table service, and you get a truly memorable experience. If I lived within 15 miles I'd go there regularly. But I live 3500 miles away, so I can only suggest that you go there instead and, if the sky is blue, enjoy it as much as we did

UPDATE AS OF 13.09.2022 : So happy we've given this place one more chance! Thanks to their amazing manager Jess (sorry if wrong spelling) and a great new server, today was amazing. The food was super tasty (we had chicken and calamari and the soup of the day p.s. I would suggest a small pinch of allspice and nutmeg to that soup, but it was still very good!). Our 16 month old girl was super happy as well, she had French fries and some chicken bites. We were also celebrating our grandmother's birthday and they made it extra special with this cake. Thank you guys for everything, will definitely come back! 🥰

We live only 5km from the golf course and went for the breakfast buffet today in hopes of not only supporting a local business but thinking we were going for a “ buffet “ with lots of top notch goodies . The buffet is basically for the guests and is included in their room fees and not what you think it would be for the public . If you stayed overnight and this was your breakfast included you would probably be satisfied . As a person coming in for breakfast , not so much . To start the plates were dirty and had to pick through the few that were left to find a clean one . There was cereal in a dispenser and make your own toast . Fruit salad had been sitting for awhile and not great looking fruit . The eggs Benedict were quite good but cold . Bacon and sausage and potatoes were like anywhere else you would go so nothing special . Pastries ( other than the banana bread ) looked to be store bought but could be wrong . Few pieces of rolled up cold cut meats on a plate . Coffee was not hot so we asked for another one and it was not hot either . Had to ask for the “ fresh juice “ and I’m pretty sure that it was NOT fresh cranberry juice as described . Server was nice and polite but other than bringing us coffee that was it … but hey it is a buffet. On another note most of the tables were dirty from other customers who had left and never cleaned off the entire time we were there . And lastly for $26 each for a tiny amount of selection , quality and food shouldn’t the coffee should be included in that price ! We were charged and extra $3.50 each for our coffees !!!! Really ??? Sorry but sadly we will never come back for...

Not what was expected in the least. My wife and I played Cobble Beach golf course and had thoughts of going to find a fancy upscale restaurant in Owen sound afterwards. After seeing how gorgeous and impeccable the golf course was we decided to eat at the clubhouse restaurant. The menu was limited but much of it sounded delicious. We decided to share an appetizer and chose calamari. $16 for 7 pieces of calamari (I counted) barely counts as an app for one person. Tasted good but such a small portion for the cost. I ordered the days special which consisted of prime rib, mashed potatoes, yorkshire pudding, and seasonal vegetables. The only words I have for this meal is just okay. It lacked flavour, all of it. The tastiest thing I had on my plate was the carrots. My wife is pescatarian so she had the Georgian bay white fish and fries. The fish was okay but the description did not mention the fries were seasoned with any kind of Cajun spice. This doesn’t seem like an appropriate combination for basically fish and chips. However, without the Cajun spicing I fear the fries also would have lacked flavour. The service was quite good and all the staff seemed very polite and eager to help without being pushy. We regret not finding a nicer place to eat as we only planned eating at one nice restaurant during our vacation and for $135 it was not worth the cost.

The golf course is a 10/10 with a 6/10 restaurant charging 9/10 prices. My suggestion is up the culinary game to be on par...

We recently attended this restaurant in a group of 14 for a wedding anniversary. Going to what is deemed a high end restaurant you expect atmosphere, timely service and excellent food. I must say this place had non of the above. Prices are very high and food is very mediocre for what you pay for. I had the short rib and I must say it was dry, with very minimal flavour. No sauce to help moisten the dry meat which it was advertised to have. Was suppose to come with fingerling potatoes, instead it came with a mound of dry flavourless mashed potatoes. I get this meal option often at high end restaurant and I must say this is the worst I have had and it was $47 for one short rib. My wife had their feature salad heirloom tomatoes with fresh strawberry’s, endive and fresh mozzarella for $24. However, presentation was terrible. Strawberries looked like they were a week old, dressing was nothing exciting it was very underwhelming for the price. She had their feature margarita pesto pizza for her main. It was OK but nothing special. To be honest, my daughter’s kids, chicken fingers and fries were probably the best tasting thing we had. Service was very slow. We definitely will not be back. For the price we paid we could’ve went to many other “high end” restaurants and had an outstanding meal with a much better atmosphere and service experience very...
