Rhino's Roadhouse — Restaurant in Hamilton Township

Stopped here for lunch on Sunday July 15th. The location is great, nice view of the lake, however..... the service on this particular day was nothing less than awful.. the patio was average busy and split in 2 sections, one large and one small consisting of about 6 tables.. The server handling the large section was doing great, very diligent, service looked quick and efficient.. we however were unlucky enough to be sitting in the other server's section.. She was completely obliviois to our presence for a solid 20 minutes.. others in her section (Yes all 5 others) also seemed to be complaining of poor service.. we finally flagged down the other server as ours was no where to be seen, we'd been there for 20 minutes and didn't even have a menu or water ... We finally received our menus, and water, all of us quickly decided what to order.. our server walked past and asked of we were ready to order to which we replied "yes"... (this was now 30 minutes after being seated) and then she proceeded to clear tables and seat more people rather than get our food started.. all the while smiling very casually , taking her time, and completely oblivious to the fact that we were now 40 minutes in and hadn't ordered yet. I should point out that this was not a busy time of day.. 2:30 in the afternoon... Finally ordered , food was good, although we could have been served anything at that point and we'd have eaten it.. fries looked good but were stale as if they'd been sitting in a warmer for a long time.. obviously they are not made to order.. As others point out its over priced as well .. $95 For lunch for 5.. and nothing special was ordered, we all had water and no drinks, mostly because it was never offered and the water that sat empty the entire meal never got filled... on a hot and humid day. . I have seen the billboards many times and had just recently read the story about how the restaurant had burned down and the owner continued to pay the employees during the rebuild, so I decided to drop in. The waitress was very pleasant and she seemed to ensure her customers were cared for. I ordered the special consisting of ribs, wings and Caesar salad, along with a coke. The pop was to my liking and the salad, while not the best, was overall satisfactory. The rest of the food however was a real disappointment. The ribs were dry and at one point I literally had to remove the meat from my mouth because I could not chew it. The sauce with the ribs was uninspiring and looked like a bottle sauce from the supermarket. The coating on the wings was a bit hard and the sauce was virtually nonexistent, it is the first time I picked up a wing and didn't have sauce on my fingers. I had a view into the kitchen from my seat and could see the cooks using their non-gloved fingers to slide food off the spatulas and on to the plate. I didn't finish the meal and when the waitress asked if I wanted to pack it up to take home, I believe my response was, "hell no". I was glad that I went there by myself and didn't bring anyone else with me as my meal was so bad. I am disappointed that I detoured off the highway to visit this place.
