I should have known better. 🙄

First of all The Slider Combo was fantastic. I tried to decide which of the three sliders I liked best. Too difficult. The Pulled Pork was tender and tangy. Beef Brisket had a nice outside crust with a pepper bite and flavour throughout. Mmmm. The third was the Nirvana Moon Burger. Kinda tough to stand up against the first two, however it did well. The Slaw was fine. Nothing wrong with it, just wasn't as over the top good as the three Sliders.

I'd order the Slider Combo again and again.

Now, the part where I should have know better,...

I ordered the "Smoked Chips", potato chips. I was thinking that they make their own chips and smoked them. Nope. Assumptions are often wrong. They seemed like right off the grocery shelf. Disappointed.

What I should have done was ordered the beans. However all was not lost, my server replaced the chips with beans. YES!

They were really good. Obviously they added their own meat, tang and sauce. Delicious. Better than most beans at BBQ places.

One more good, before the not so good,... my server, was great, very friendly, great energy, great smile, so much so I wondered if she was hitting on me. LOL!

Finally a note for improvement aimed at the two staff talking at the front desk for about half my meal. If you want to talk, cool. But don't seat a single four feet away from you. It was kinda tough to enjoy assessing my 3pm linner. Or enjoy the music which is part of the ambiance. I was and still not interested in your nails, or customers that don't speak English well enough for you to seat five or six. Nor your jobs and compensation.

Next time, remember people can hear you. So careful what you say. And don't seat a single by the reception when the restaurant is only 30%...

I would give a 5 * to this place before but the last bit the prices have significantly increased and unfortunately the quality has gone down. I wouldn’t mind the price increase with their usual price quality but now it’s becoming not worth it. I typically get 2 full racks without sides it’s now $88.00. I really don’t mind paying that price when their quality is there. My last 2 orders have been wrong and both times I asked for sauce but the first time I got no sauce but atleast it was on the side with big containers and they didn’t charge me extra. This past time no sauce at all one rack seemed undercooked or just off I can’t explain it but we didn’t really eat it. I requested the smokehouse sauce on the ribs when I placed the order and once I came to pick up my order I asked for an extra side of the sweeter sauce. She charged me for the extra sauce gave me a very small side of sauce even though there was none on the ribs. There couldn’t have been a miscommunication because she charged me and I didn’t ask for anything extra to avoid that until I got there. We ordered 30 minutes to closing and went to the drive in so we couldn’t go back the ribs were very dry and obviously I like saucy or I wouldn’t request an extra side. I don’t like to complain so I usually try to give more than one chance. The positive would be that orders are ready quick and they have great staff. I’ve never went into eat at the actual restaurant but I’ve been going for years for take out ribs and all my interactions have...

Stopped in here for a light lunch on 03/14/2024 at 12:00 P.M. met my sister and brother-in-law from Beamsville, ON, wife and I came from west Hamilton, ON. Both of us (couples) were not really that hungry, and to be fair, this restaurant doesn’t or didn’t offer much for “light” eaters. I guess if one has a large appetite, at dinner time, there’s a huge assortment of smoked meat dishes, ranging from pulled meat sandwiches to ribs, wings, and various burgers. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating when serving us. My sister only ordered a couple of biscuits with a coffees and brother-in-law ordered a small dish of Mac and cheese with a coffee. The wife and I ordered the Sneaky Cheese Poutine, fries, gravy, bits of onion and sour cream. That dish was huge for $10.00 each, we couldn’t even finish them. I found it a bit on the “dry” side, lacking some gravy, but was OK. Had a root beer, as their Sprite soda dispenser was out of order. Nice nostalgia look of the 50’s in restaurant, overall a very clean establishment. We’ve been here before, several years ago, not dissing the place, just didn’t have appetites on this day. One can see by all the reviews, people have been satisfied with the food.
