Last night our party of 6 had reservations for 6pm in the pub side. When I arrived all our guests were sat at the table. I noticed the formal dining room was full. And the pub was starting to fill up. After we ordered drinks we all ordered starters and mains. We waited over an hour for the starters to arrive. The waitress or manager on duty never once stopped by the table to apologize for the long wait. After the long wait on starters it was followed by another wait for our mains. Food was fair , not over the top. I went to the front desk and spoke with the manager. He faulted the new waitress serving us. Again no apologizes. Our table ordered desserts and coffee and the bill. $465.00 which would have been fair for 6 guests. However not offered any discounts or even a visit to our table from the manager. Our family does attend this restaurant regularly on pub side and on the formal side. So disappointed with the way we were treated. I don't think we will be back for awhile Disappointed diner!!!!
Part two... After writing the first report we were contacted by the owner Bob. He offered us a redo. So our party of six made reservations this past Monday. Not knowing it was Burgers and Beatles night. We were sat at the same table as last time. This time our server was Bobby. A very friendly and attentive young lady. We ordered our drinks and starters and this time things arrived fast and fresh. One slip out on our wing sauces but our party enjoyed them. Dinner arrived shortly after everything was cleared. I ordered salmon salad and have had this dish before but found my salmon a little over cooked for my liking. However Bobby made it right by getting the kitchen to do a redo salmon filet for me. Our experience this time was smooth and we had a lovely evening. The music was enjoyable and not overwhelming. On behalf of our group we say Thank you to Bob the owner and the staff for putting our faith back into the restaurant. We will be back! Btw the sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Next time I might start with that to make sure I have enough room. Thanks again for your hospitality With regards Denise...
Read moreI recently got married in my parents backyard and we booked Bob and his team at the Innsville to do our catering. We were referred to them by Gary from Special Event Rentals and we were not disappointed. The advice and quality experience they bring to the table is unmatched. Our wedding was the perfect event, and that was almost entirely because of the work that they did.
Bob is a bit of an old school guy, but he knows top quality food and events inside and out. His attention to detail knows no bounds, and he takes all feedback and input very seriously.
This is not the type of vendor you can email a few times and show up on the day of. Working with Bob is a partnership across meetings, texts, and phone calls. Every detail is discussed and planned in advance, and Bob has a ton of great advice to offer about what you'll need to make your event a great experience. Bob doesn't care just about the food, he cares about making the event itself excellent.
And the food? Wow. It was SO good. Multiple guests commented that it was as good as restaurant food, and it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. We had 160 guests and every one of them was pleased.
Bob's team served appetizers during our cocktail hour, and the served a 4 course plated dinner to 160 guests. Accommodating allergies and other dietary needs was a breeze.
For late night, we had a Portuguese style seafood buffet, and it was a huge hit.
The serving team, led by Amy, did a wonderful job. Knowing I'd be hungry yet busy, their team made sure to check in and offer me extra food throughout the day. They were incredibly kind and professional, and they made our guests feel welcome.
In the 2 days before the wedding, Amy and Bob were frequently on site to set up and answer questions. They took ownership of the event and did everything they could to make it special (including adding a little bit of butter w/garnish onto each bread plate!).
If you're planning a wedding or other event I very strongly recommend that you work with Bob, Amy, and the rest of their team. A huge thank you to the entire team for making the event...
Read moreim going to be brutally honest… I was invited by a friend to their Mystery themed “experiences”. This was my first time ever eating here. Fixed price was $75 but if you order drinks the price can easily rack up to $100. I ordered one drink.
For their mystery dinner…I honestly was expecting A LOT..A LOT more.I wanted to be locked IN the story… I was expecting more interactiveness with the story, more ways of connecting with other tables…anything that felt like an actual experience. The most action was when two actors drew guns at eachother near the end, yet it felt forced since most of the plot of the story feels sooo slow paced leaving a lot of audience members not knowing what to do with themselves. I looked forward to the food and wasnt woooed. Regular pub food with a fancy twist on it. It was tasty yes, but to charge $75 to $100 for a narrated dinner…? i would rather wait till fringe festival or theatre season happens at theatre aquarius and splurge there instead…
You have a storyline, you have clues, you have narrators and actors even physical clues that are left for the audience to “voluntarily look at” at one table right before salad and dinner are served…but overall the experience felt very one sided leaving the actors to carry out the entire thing; which to me felt longer, daunting…and im going to say after being there since 7…by 9pm i was ready to get my bill… Im not sure if if was because the crowd itself was disrespectfully noisy as the main actor and narrator had to call their attention several times and even made comments about folks being on their phones mid show…or the show’s structure didnt favor the diverse age group that attended…
I felt i had to mention this on here because as cool as a dinner and a show sound…and the enthusiasm from the actors was there and deserved to be respected, the structure wasnt the best. Go for the food if you want but dont promise a show when its not a show, it felt like a workshop not many recieved the way...
