McDonald's — Restaurant in Hamlet of Clairmont

We just went to pop in for a quick bite and while the initial service experience with the lady at the register was pleasant, it was incredibly disappointing after we received our food.

To keep this succinct, there were numerous things overlooked with our order such as receiving a spicy deluxe Mccrispy with bacon when we asked for no bacon, no barbecue sauces for the chicken McNugget meals in the bag, and a mix up with the sizes of our drink beverages after she forgot to provide us with the cups for our drinks. None of this would’ve been an issue if it weren’t for the responses and demeanour received.

Being cognizant that it was likely a long day for this worker, we continued to politely address each concern but was met with a sense of resistance and attitude as if we were causing issues addressing discrepancies with our order. Even when asking for barbecue sauce, I immediately encountered judgement and comments that she had already put two in the bag when clearly there wasn’t any and was left to feeling foolish as though me asking was a big ask; implying that I was lying just to get more.

After addressing these concerns, we were met with a sense that we had made the mistake when ordering when clearly some errors were simply made in the preparation of the order in of itself as most of the order was documented correctly on the receipt and corroborated what we were saying; with the exception of the burger.

The only reason I’m taking the time to post this is due in part to the demeanour of the customer service rep and how she abruptly walked away as my husband was politely talking to her.

Again, we weren’t expecting world class service, we are aware this is a fast food service establishment but we certainly didn’t deserve to be treated as if we were in the wrong and causing a nuisance when we just wanted the order we rightfully paid for.

All Grande Prairie McDonald's locations have been in a steady decline over the past couple years. The prices are higher at the McDonald's in Clairmont than any other McDonald's I've been to in all of Western Canada. A breakfast sandwich at the Clairmont location is almost the same price as a whole combo at the two Grande Prairie locations.

The Clairmont McDonald's falsifies their order times by immediately clearing the order from the screen, indicating that the order number has already been served... when it hasn't. Worst yet, the last few times in a row that I've been, they've cleared my order and then completely forgot to actually make it. So to McDonald's head office their order times are nice and short when in reality the customer has been waiting for a cup of tea (hot water poured into a cup) for long enough to watch multiple other customers park, enter the restaurant, stand in line, order, receive their orders and leave. Seems like a long time to wait for a cup of hot water.

Do better. "Our teas aren't printing" doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The self ordering station printed the receipt, the order number went up onto the order screen. You cleared it and then forgot to make it, don't make stupid excuses and expect people to buy your BS. If the self order stations are printing every other item for every other customer... why would tea be the only item the system isn't printing in the kitchen? Give your head a shake,...

I have had a breakfast burrito from here same as my husband we ordered them quite frequently every morning before we went to work there’s been numbers of times where we got the burritos and they were freezing cold and sometimes they’ve been microwaved a little bit, but still cold where we end up throwing them out Because we can’t eat them like that they need to be more careful with this kind of stuff to make sure they’re fully cooked before serving to.
