I'll give the stay itself 4 stars...staff was friendly, hotel was clean. I'll give the follow up 0 stars. Stay for the stay itself, but don't necessarily expect your Wyndham points once you leave.
Stayed 4 nights mid-September. Took my Wyndham number. 10 days after I left, had 4 nights and 0 points in my account. Two separate e-mails to Wyndham Rewards got no response, other than the generic "We'll get back to you in 24-48 hours." Posted the issue on FB, got a reply saying to call customer service. Had to talk to 3 different people at Wyndham before I could get an answer. Why 4 nights with 0 points??? First excuse was "Your reservation was made through a third party booking agency so that gets you no points." No it wasn't...it was multiple phone calls by myself to the front desk at the Ramada Clairmont, because they did not send me the confirmation e-mail like they said they would. Second excuse was "You weren't the primary person on the reservation." Yes I was...I booked it, using my corporate card with my name on it...my colleague is new to the company, and I could not even verify if they had a corporate card they could use. Finally, I was told that "They gave you a special rate and so the hotel decided to put through your transaction as non-qualifying." The Wyndham Rewards rep had to call the hotel directly to actually find out what was going on. Well, the first and only rate I was ever offered was the $14x that I paid. And that is a special rate?!? I'll give an example of a special rate...the Ramada in Drayton Valley. Rate was $145. "What's your best corporate rate?" "Sir, best I can do is...$116." That's a special rate discount. And you know what? I had my Wyndham Rewards points in my account from the Ramada DV within 48 hours of leaving...
Follow up...Mark took the time to call and explain the problems his hotel had been having with Wyndham in issuing points for stays. He said he would follow up directly with Wyndham about this issue. Within 24 hours after our conversation, I had all the points for my stay in my account. Thanks for...
Read moreEven though I’ll be billing the room back to the company it’s Not worth the $169.00 paid I thought “great it’s attached to a husky house if the breakfast is gross I’ll go to the husky house” Not so ... breakfast is served at the Husky house unless you enjoy greasy under cooked sausages and greasy over cooked bacon do not eat there for breakfast the pancakes were crispy and the eggs were rubbery. Using the voucher made me feel like I was cashing in food stamps. Seemed like even the hotel staff didn’t want to be there and they’re being paid to be there. The room was big clean and comfortable but dated and the highway noise didn’t keep me awake so long as I kept the window closed. This is my first review but I think people need...
Read moreGuest services manager couldn't direct me to a hotel that accepts debit deposit. (None of the hotels could, actually told me NO ONE BOOKS WITHOUT A CC) Just told me I could call around and ask. As a mother of a small one traveling, I can say not convenient or even helpful. I understand policy, doesn't change the fact your policy leaves mothers and fathers in their car in a dangerous city. It's not easy to travel in Alberta without a CC. The Sandman just 10 minutes into town does take debit deposit if you're stuck without the use of your CC. And so much more helpful and friendly. The budget of Ramada Pomeroy properties...
