Acadian Fish and Chips & Enzo Pizzeria - Hammonds Plains — Restaurant in Hammonds Plains

My intention is not to run this business down, I've been a good customer for a few years now and like many other restaurants in the area, they been through alot over the past year or so because of Covid. I tried to call 3 thimes today and sent a message through the FB page but have not gotten a response. I really feel it's necessary for them to know my experience. I dined in a couple months ago before the last shut down and ordered the fish/scallop platter. Fish was great, scallops were terrible. The owner was not there this visit. The young guy offered to fry me new scallops and they were just as bad so he offered to refund my money and I said it was not necessary, but he insisted. SO instead I asked for a medium pizza to take home. Perfect! Pizza was great. (always is :) ) I waited awhile before going back because of covid and all and yesterday we decided to order a family pack of fish & chips for Father's Day. I'm sure it was really busy like every other restaurant so we called in an order for pick up, family pack of fish & chips, 4 extra pieces of fish and a poutine. Arrived to find out that they didn't have time to add the 4 extra pieces of fish and the poutine. So we ended up taking the family pack and going somewhere else to get the rest. Alittle disappointing. Even more disappointing, the fries were cold and the fish was not great. I'm not looking for anything free or my money reimbursed. This is my personal experience and review of my dining experience at this moment, yours may differ based on many factors. Keeping this to the points, both good and otherwise; Ordered the fried fish with clams and fries, excellent value and portion size, thisxorder was enough for two people easily. The Clams were excellent, highly recommend. The Fried Fish was not enjoyable, tasted like sea-fresh which is previously frozen and a little dry, I know fresh haddock well, as I handle and cook it a lot, and this was not fresh. The batter was too thick, almost like a Chinese batter on chicken balls and in some spots the batter was still gummy on the inside, not pleasant..I removed the batter and ate the fish which was not that flavorful so I do not recommend the fish. The Fries are obviously a frozen product but cooked perfectly and perfectly fine IMO. The Tartar sauce was very good as was the cole slaw. The restaurant.... we entered the restaurant, it's dated but comfortable and clean with very friendly staff. You have to place your order at the counter like a takeout place and pay before you get your order served at your table... I gave this place 4 stars due to the overall experience but the fish itself gets a 3 star. I will go back for sure when...

Worst service ever!! Sunday June 19th 2022 My mom and I went for supper here. We both were craving the lobster roll. Could not wait to try what everyone brags about being the best there is. To begin with the service was absolutely horrible. I ordered 2 lobster rolls, one with fries. They brought our food to the table and didn't give us forks or condiments. The rolls had 4 to 5 tiny bite size pieces with no Mayo. The sandwich was all lettuce. The guy came over and asked how everything was. I responded with it's OK but could we please have some forks and ketchup please. The guy says sure. That was the last we saw of the guy. Noone brought over forks or ketchup. We had to eat the coleslaw using the fries. Absolutely worst service we've ever had! I sent them a personal message on Facebook and they read the message but didn't respond. Then I went to their website and sent my complaint and then was blocked off their Facebook page. We paid $22 x2 for this terrible meal and not one person could get back to us.
