El Greco — Restaurant in Happy Valley-Goose Bay

I used to like this place. USED to. I had to drive 20 minutes for it, but it used to be worth the distance. I will NOT be spending my hard earned money on such poor quality food. I ordered chicken souvlaki. The lettuce was yellow, and brown. Which anyone who knows lettuce can say this lettuce is a step away from the garbage, let alone serve it to someone at regular price. When I called to explain about my displeased order, the lettuce was exchanged, however a high amount of salt was added to my salad and my chicken was burnt. The idea of running a successful restaurant is to have your customers leaving happy, pleased with experience, and a repeat customer. This restaurant failed at this. I will not be returning and taking my business and my money elsewhere. Ask yourself this, if a restaurant can sell you yellow and brown lettuce in a salad, and deem it acceptable, how good is the rest of the ingredients they use to serve to everyone else? Not impressed. The most friendliest staff out of all restaurants in goose bay, these staff care for their customers, when I came to pick up an order one day, the chef/cook gave me the food himself. That’s how you know it’s a good restaurant. Their poutine, very thick and can pick it up with a fork. The whole thing, artery clogger imo. But their chicken souvlaki is just amazing. The salad has the perfect amount of dressing, the rice is a little dry sometimes and the chicken is sometimes cooked for too long, not burnt though. But that’s what I like about the chicken, the browning adds flavour, yes I know that’s from the griddle, but it tastes amazing. Was sent in that direction by a local lad. Told me he'd been all over canada and europe and said this was the best pizza he ever had. I've been all over and heard that claim one too many times. Got there and admittedly, the place is very shack-y. Didn't bode well I thought. Step in and it doesn't look any better. Thought well, what harm is there to try at this point.
