Still Debating? Let The Legend shed a little light for ya. :) . . .
The Food: Amazing!! Big Portion sizes, Quality Ingredients, and Oh so Delicious :) You can tell each dish is prepared with high standards and it shows. They rock the classics (Burger's Fish & Chips) while putting their spin on it. They also offer dishes not so common to tickle your taste buds. :) I Highly Recommend checking out the Rice Bowl as well :)
The Staff: Fantastic. I'm even going to say the staff are quite possibly one of the best I've EVER experienced. The whole team works well. From the chef's in the back, to the wait staff, to the managers. Even when times get busy the quality of food doesn't falter. They are consistent, super attentive and real friendly. I personally love the staff diversity representing different cultures as well. :)
The "Feel" : From the moment you walk in, and are greeted with smiles all around from great staff (see above) , you notice that the great folks who made this beautiful place a reality .. .really went above and beyond. It is the fanciest place in Goose Bay and really stands alone . BUT. . . . .They do it well. It's "Posh" . . .. but because of the staff, and the easy going, relaxing ambience you experience as soon as you enter. . .It doesn't come off as being "Stuck up" . They accept all who enter, without Bias, without Dress code. Come as you are and enjoy!! They truly did go above and beyond with the design all the while proudly representing Labrador Culture. :)
and Finally . .. .
The Cost:
Now I know what you're thinking. . .you hear of a place like this by word of mouth, or some awesome review ;-) . . .and think "Oh, how is anyone going to afford to eat in a place like this! " "This place is -just for tourists-" ""This is too fancy for Goose bay" . . .
I Get it! Initially, I was in that boat with you. But then something awesome happened. . . .. . .I went. :)
Here it is , Life as we know it. . . .has gotten more expensive. Everything from groceries, to gas, etc. So naturally the food scene and restaurant industry reflects that. The cost you'd spend at Those golden arches, isn't the same as it once was. Fact.
So, with all that considered I want to tell you, that what you pay here for a meal. . .is VERY Reasonable. It's amazing food, great portions , awesome staff, in a one of a kind setting.
They seek to appeal to any who enter, and want to provide the "Mamattuk" Experience to all who come through the doors. . .. . And they succeed with flying colors. So at the end of the day, when you enter its not just the food you pay for It's an experience and a very good one at that. :)
Bottom Line:
Go! Enjoy! Whether on business, travelling, or local to the area. Take your loved one out or go by your lonesome . . .Just go and enjoy this true one of a kind experience in Goose Bay. It really is a gem.
This place gets a Legends 5 out of 5.

Read moreI made a reservation for two at Mamattuk, and upon arrival at 5 PM, we were delighted to be seated at a table with a stunning view of the snowfall outside, overlooking the gas station and DQ. The manager, Ernest K., served us personally, which added a nice touch to our evening.
The menu offered a good selection of starters, main courses, and desserts, including today’s specials like filet mignon and acute heart cake. We enjoyed dishes such as the Bakeapple Negroni, Sushi Roll, Fillet Mignon, Beef Rib, Velvet Cake, Truffle Mac & Cheese, and a Latte. Although the prices were a bit high, the quality of the food justified it.
While the Bakeapple Negroni looked impressive, I would recommend trying their Smokey Margarita for a more flavorful experience. The service was attentive, and we appreciated the overall ambiance of the restaurant.
In summary, Mamattuk provided a memorable dining experience with its charming atmosphere, attentive service, delicious food, and added conveniences like free parking and a bar. Despite the higher prices, it was a special evening for us, and we look forward to returning...
Read moreI had three different cocktails. They were all really good. The negative points came as the meal went on. For the main course, I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was over cooked and cold but the batter was crispy. The fries were really good, the coleslaw and the tartar sauce too. I took the chocolate dessert to bring home and it was very disappointing. The chocolate sauce had small lumps so it looked like a delicious hazelnut chocolate sauce but it turned out to taste like cocoa and water with lumps. The berry sauce was a little bitter, the cake had a nice texture but it totally missed the sweet chocolate taste I was expecting. It was very bland. For a dessert that said chocolate three times in the title, I expected to taste the chocolate way more. The staff, the decor and the drinks were my highlights. I never noticed the music either. So the ambiance and the food needs some work for the price. It wasn't a disaster but I wasn't...
