Gazoo's — Restaurant in Head of Chezzetcook

Me and the old lady had a hankering for some fish and chips. we did 140 the whole way from halifax and made it to gazoos 4 minutes before closing... The staff here are amazing. Closing was supposed to be at 7, but people were still showing up, and they were still taking orders. The cook made amazing food. And the young lady taking the orders was very polite and energetic. The chips were cooked to perfection, and the fish was a crispy crunchy melt in your mouth and make drule sensation the coleslaw was delightfuly delicious and people if you are a clam lover like myself i recommendthis place. As for my fish and chips spot (oh my cod) in mahone Bay used to be the spot for our fish and chips, but we both agree GAZOOS IS NOW THE SPOT !!!

Cake and Fish and Chips... So we took in Gazoo's as part of fish and chip tasting experience/road-trip. The chips we great! Perfect. Waaaay too many. Thanks though Gazoo's. Side note... your business could save money but cutting that chip portion size down by half!!! The fish was disappointing! It was like eating a piece of fish surrounded by soggy, half cooked CAKE batter!!! And because the batter is ALL WRONG for fried fish (e.g. not a tempura-style, light and crispy batter), the fish was dripping juices which were pooling inside the soggy, half-cooked, dense, cakey batter. I eat fish and chips weekly at different places along with my brother. And I must say the fish and chips here are just okay. All haddock is similar but it's the batter that makes it, and the batter here is just so so. Difficult to cut through it with plastic knives turning it into mush basically. Harbour fish n fries in mosquidobit is better. The prices are tad expensive at Gazoos also. $7 for a piece of fish is overpriced seeing that this is Nova Scotia where we're surrounded by ocean and haddock. A piece of fish should cost no more than $5. Another negative thing about Gazoos is that they accept cash only. Most people nowadays don't carry cash on them,...
