I have been here a few times before in the past but after my last visit I will not be back.
Honestly, I was very disappointed in how we were spoken to and treated as customers and if I could give a 0 star rating I would.
I took my disabled brother here as I was treating him to lunch on my visit to Yarmouth. My brother is mentally challenged and had a difficult time to make up his mind what he wanted to eat so I was giving him some options. The impression and feeling that I got was basically to hurry up and get our order in. The worker even told me that she needed to get the order into the kitchen which I understood but I was trying to see what he wanted for dessert as well as I was going to pay for everything at once.
Originally my brother asked to eat outside which is what I told them, but while we were standing there waiting for food we were asked to move over and stand by the door which we did. While we were standing there in the corner a group of people were trying to get in so we had to move out of the way. Since we were standing on the side the same woman came up to me and asked me if we were eating in or out in what I would consider to be an abrupt tone. I asked my brother where he wanted to eat and he said inside now instead so we sat down at the booth by the door. My brother was not quite done yet, and another group of people came in. She asked where they would like to eat. They told her inside. She then looked over at us and made a statement along the lines that we would be done shortly as my brother was still eating his food. Basically it felt like she was saying 'Hurry up and get out' which really annoyed me.
My feedback to the woman behind the counter would be to work on your customer service skills. Out of all the places I have eaten, I have never been spoken at, or to in this manner and I felt it was not only rude, but unprofessional. If you do not enjoy your job, perhaps it is time to try another vocation. This was honestly the worst customer service experience I have had in a restaurant to date. Do not waste your time...
Read moreHe stopped in for lunch and we started off with muscles and seafood chowder. The muscles were plentiful and tasty while the seafood chowder was delicious. Plenty of seafood meat including lobster fish and scallops. Our main dishes were the special of the day which was fried haddock, scallops and french fries while the second dish was the cold lobster sandwich. The haddock and scallops were tasty and were not oily as some fried food can be. The lobster sandwich was served on homemade white bread and was good but I could have used more lobster in the sandwich. I'm used to the overflowing lobster sandwiches. The service was okay but I'd consider it a little slow and that may be because there was only one server. In addition, they have a bakery full of all homemade pies, cookies and other delicious baked goods and including bread. We would...
Read moreStay away. After expressing our displeasure of the food quality to their staff, they promised that the owner would call back the next day to talk about our request for a refund. After a few days, we've decided to write this review. 1) our food was soggy immediately coming off the fryer. 2) the food was incredibly bland 3) the fries are predictably from a food supplier with no special coating or flavour 4) many people speak about how great this place is, but if you have ever had fish and chips before you'll immediately be disappointed. 5) by the owner not calling us back, it speaks to the staff's ability to make a decision and the owners ultimate priorities 6) the best way I could describe this food is if you were to reheat fried seafood the next day...
